It's not in the city center, but overall it's interesting. The Mausoleum is a bit stange for me. The Manufacture is really nice and interesting.
It is an excellent museum. People could see the products of the Great Hungarian Zsolnay. It is a great place.
Stunning porcelain and other artworks in the museums but the whole complex is worth seeing - allow at least a half day - we could have spent a whole day there. It's the best thing in Pecs and that's saying something
I was looking forward to going to this museum and it did not disappoint. The different types of works that the family did are displayed beautifully and in a way that makes sense artistically and chronologically. The rooms are light and airy, do not rush through this museum.
Though it's a bit far from the centre on foot, Zsolnay Museum is a well organized, beautiful and interesting place to visit. It is a must if you are in Pécs!
Lovely museum honouring the Zsolnay family and their contributions to the Pecs community. Not just plates and vases - it's worth it!
I love ceramics and thoroughly enjoyed reading about the history of the Zsolnay's family beginning their ceramic business. The collections in the museum are well presented with English translations for each piece. Nice photo history with English translations regarding the family. This museum also shows the decorating trends that came and went (art deco & Egyptian for example)Recommend.
A must for fans of decorative ceramic art objects!Best to visit during early morning or during weekends when the museum closes late at 19:00
Prior to visiting we weren't familiar with these beautiful porcelains. We are so glad we visited! Beautiful collection of examples of the items designed and produced by the Zsolnay factory! Walking around Pecs after visiting the museum you'll see his influence and works everywhere. Don't miss this gem of a museum during your stay in town.
Just one of the many museums in the so-called museum street would be underestimation for this museum. This is the place where you will live your own fairy-tale among all the porcelain and glass objects made by Zsolnay family manufacture. Plan to spend at least an hour or more navigating through this magnificent museum. Note: No-English speaking staff, Student reduced price up to 26 years of age, Photo/video allowance to be paid (not expensive tough).
A lot of exhibitions, that can be visited separately, depending on your interest. A great park with a lot of structures, nice area to take a long walk or just to relay.
This museum is dedicated to the Zsolnay porcelain factory. It is located in the oldest residental building in Pecs which dates from 1324 year. Entrance is arched gate, when you pass the hall you are entering the glass door and you are in the garden. Museum has over 10000 items such as porcelain objects, old documents, photographs, letters... The museum has approach to disabled persons, it has a lift to the floor exhibitions.
The display offers various pieces of porcelain which are very beautiful. I had read reviews that said there was no photography, but this dis not apply to us on our visit. The Museum also displays the history of the Zsolnay family which I found interesting especially the takeover by the Communists and then back to be in private hands again. I recommend this place to visit.
This museum houses a beautiful display of porcelain vases, figurines, statues, dishes, etc. No photography is allowed. I wish there had been more information provided regarding the history and process of making the porcelain. I agree with other reviewers - it did not seem to be air-conditioned and was quit warm the August day we visited.
This became a very interesting half hour on our wondering of Pecs on a very hot Sunday Pecs afternoon (34.5oC in the shade) Zsolnay was most certainly a very talented fellow. The works are well displayed and we were guided by a hostess from area to area. On such a hot day, little ventilation came through the few one windows, we did leave before we should have, however it was a pleasant and worthwhile visit
