Wow these guys are unbelievable with how much they run off people for their services. avoid at all cost at all times in all locations.

After reading a full page advert. In Discover Atherton Tablelands for this place I drove 1.5 hours for the tour. It didn't exist. Essentially, a coffee shop set in a parched landscape. Just below the balcony is a stagnant pool, not the most inviting outlook. Positives - very friendly young Estonian woman serving, building is rather spectacular, coffee is good (I have to admit I am not one of those coffee idiots) Read my ePapers to 70's Muzak - nice in relative solitude.Long drive for a cup of coffee and look at another bit of brown Australia.

Its been a few years since we visited this place, but we loved it when we did! The view and surrounding area was spectacular! Great destination to drive to for a view and coffee and pastry too!

The views were wonderful and I got some ood photos of the views from the cafe verandah. I was part of a tour group who had many stops in Cairns and one of the stops was Skybury. The Skybury guide was a friendly man, and he showed us around the plantation.Later we had lunch and the chicken caesar salad was good and the Coffee Ice cream was yummy and so was the Ice Coffee. Service in the cafe was average though.Interestingly the bathroom has a nice water feature inside it.

Dear GeoffThank you for taking the time to post a review on Tripadvisor. We are very sorry that the resort sold you stale coffee. It has been over 18 months since we sold coffee to the resort in question and they have clearly done the wrong thing by you. It is the nature of our business that once we have sold coffee to a retail outlet, it is very difficult if not impossible for us to have any control on how long that outlet keeps the coffee for. We will certainly look at our processes to see if there is anything we can do to encourage retailers of our coffee to do the right thing by their customers.Perhaps where we do disagree with your comments is that you felt that Skybury Coffee was solely to blame for the bad coffee. Again, I would stress that it was the resort who should carry the responsibility for selling you stale coffee. I am sure that if you were to buy stale milk from a supermarket, your concerns would be best directed at the supermarket in question rather than the company who bottled the milk! In good faith, we offered to supply you with a replacement bag of coffee. Again, I would repeat that offer and we are happy to post that to you.It is also regrettable that you have sought to question the quality of products offered at the Skybury cafe at Cairns Airport. Skybury has enjoyed a long relationship with the operators of this cafe and in our experience, they strive to give their customers great service. We believe it is unreasonable to suggest that the coffee they sell may be stale.Again, we appreciate your frustration and thank you for your time in writing a review. However, we hope that our response at least provides you (and those reading your review) with some context and balance around the issues you experienced. With kind regards, Skybury

This is out of town and the views from the balconies are amazing, sadly the rest of it isn't really as good as it could be.The lady who served us was very pleasant but the young lass that made the coffees certainly didn't have true barrista qualifications. There was no sampling of different strengths of coffees, we had to buy two plungers worth to decide which strength we wanted to buy.The place has so much potential, they do grow the stuff there after all, I am sure this wonderful impressive building could be a potential gold mine if run with a bit more flair and imagination. We had a very nice time with great coffee and Anzac biscuits but it could have been so much more interesting!

We made the journey out to the plantation expecting a real coffee experience. Yes we had an experience but not of the positive kind. The young barista was very helpful and informative. It all went downhill from there. The coffee maker (she was NOT a barista!) couldn't explain why the huge cup of coffee was $5 compared to a takeaway small at $4.50. Anyway we chose the only cup size, huge (why so big?) and waited. Our gut feel was that our coffees would be average. The coffees exceeded our worst expectations in that they were truly undrinkable. We have been enjoying brilliant coffees in Cairns ar Bang and Grind. The coffee at Skybury was the exact opposite..too hot, burnt milk, no texture, no body, no flavour, no crema...a total and utter disaster.

Had a perfect lunch here last year. The view is spectacular. Returned again with visitors from interstate & overseas only to find it closed on the weekends. Very strange for a tourist business in North Queensland. This review doesn't allow me to submit without a rating, but I hope I can warn others from going there on a weekend only to find it closed. (It is about 13km out of Mareeba). My rating for last year's visit is 4, which may not be the current situation.

We had tried the other coffee places in Mareeba so the brochure we had for this place looked really good. Building is beautiful & the views are wonderful but there is where the story ends. They have a big restaurant but its not open. You can only get toasted sandwiches 4 kinds for lunch. Coffee was nothing special. No displays about the coffee making process, no information on anything. No samples to try, only selling chocolate roasted coffee beans. What a disappointment as we made a special effort to go to this place. I certainly wouldn't bother again.

Lovely spot, great building. Needs someone to get everything else better though. Coffee was not good (need a proper trained barista, you grow coffee for pete's sake). No samples of coffee themed items. Was dissapointed not have a coffee tree or the fruit or any sort of display about the produce. A few machines... But I would have loved to have seen a coffee tree at least! The building is stunning but seriously lacking management. Our coffee was served to our table in paper cups! Our cake with plastic spoons! The potential is there, but it's not being done.

You can have a fantastic building, a magnificent view and great coffee, but if the woman at the cash register is surly, inattentive and unable to work the register it can spoil the experience. The waitress (South American?) was great - friendly smiling and efficient. The older woman at the cash register was not. Also at a great location like this, couldn't they have used real cups, not paper?

We have read the webpage in internet, watched the travel shows and waited to come here for years. Supposed to be wonderful well so the promos said. Well we were so disappointed. Not worth the trip out. We told our friends not to bother to come out from Mareeba..Only serving coffee and cake. Restaurant is closed. The place has a run down look. Information on coffee process all locked up. Jacques and Coffee Works vibrant. Sad but true. .

This attraction is quite a long way out of town, and not worth the effort. There was little to see. We were looking forward to trying a varierty coffees but were offered an ordinary selection which were served in a paper cup by waitresses who didn't even appear to be interested in coffee. The coffee was the worst we had on our holiday. :(

Not worth the drive from Mareeba. I have now been to all three major coffee plantation farm gate cafés in Mareeba and the only one worth visiting is Jaques.Coffee at this place was more expensive for a regular cup at $4.50 and served in paper cup. Service is slow and although the view is nice from the verandah, I could not see any coffee plants. Also the quality of the coffee was average and slightly bitter perhaps through over roasting.
