keswick underwater adventures

I have just returned back from my second trip to Keswick island, and will definitely be returning for more! What a place! The island is only a short 12 min flight in a small plane from Mackay, and is still relatively untouched and unknown. Keswick underwater adventures provide some great weekend dive trips including SSI training. On my first trip there I completed all specialties requires for my advanced open water ticket and this trip I just dived from sunup to sundown. As with any inner reef diving on the barrier reef, the visibility varies, but the quality of the dive sites, and the staff more than make up for the days where visibility isn't great. Two good wrecks to dive too, the Cremer and the Singapore. The Cremer is a shallower dive closer to land and is therefore covered in more greenery than reef, plus it wasnt fully submerged until the 1900's. The Singapore has been down since 1877 and is covered in plenty of reef growth. Whilst it's a relatively unknown wreck to dive, the wreck and the fish life around the reef would easily rival the famous Yongala wreck. Plenty of large schooling fish including barracuda and also saw a giant eagle ray on one of my dives there. If you haven't yet put diving at Keswick on your bucket list, you should!

I was in Mackay for work and had to get away for a dive while I was there. Was a fairly quiet time of year but these guys rallied around and organised a wonderful couple of days in a beautiful part of Australia. All 5 travellers were made to feel comfortable in a relaxed and very laid-back atmosphere that was combined with a busy schedule of diving and Island sightseeing. Unfortunately the weekend went all too fast but looking forward to my next trip to Keswick Island with these guys!!

Had a absolute rippa of a time great spot great people, all in all great day from the plane trip over to the diving, boat trip, and underwater wrecks and so much more that I didn't get time to see until I go again. Absolutely loved it. :-) :-)

I'm a local trying to give a local a go, but when a company doesn't bother to follow up my enquiry when they have promised to, I go elsewhere. Maybe Keswick Underwater Adventures has so many bookings they don't need mine, but I don't see any reviews from customers here. Seriously annoyed at being ignored!!!!
