Tobin Wines are some of the best in the region. To add to this, the wine list is great from top to bottom. Many wineries in the area have one or two nice wines and others which don't impress much at all however Tobin wines seems to get it right on every variety. My wife and I were very impressed with the wines, the staff and the approach the winery has to producing great quality product. One tip; don't make this your first stop if planning to see a few wineries in a day, you will run the risk of being underwhelmed with each place you visit after.

Ok I admit I am a wine tragic. I collect wine from all over the world and have visited most wine regions from the Napa to Mosel, Germany. Living in Queensland comes with a believe that good wine in Australia comes for anywhere but Queensland. Oh well at least with those people we know myself included until I visited Tobin. Tobin is not just worth a visit it is an absolute must for anyone that collects and love wine. I am happy to say that Adrian's wines are some of the very best I have ever tasted. They are elegant and seamless with a unique character that would cost you some serious money were they made in France for example. If you are serious about wine and wish to taste and own something special do yourself a favour and visit Tobin.

Had no great expectations and just assumed Queensland was a difficult area to make good wines - should not assume. Excellent wines and in particular, enjoyed a Tempranillo - this is a grape I have enjoyed in Spain but too often in Australia, we get cheap weak imported options. This was an excellent wine with body, flavour and pleasant spicy characters.

What a great small winery - making the best there is in Qld. Quality and thought are evident. Try these excellent wines. they are worth the price. The real terroir vineyard in Ballandean. Visit and look at the rock wall before it is no more.World Class without doubt.

My wife and I visited Tobin Winery by chance. The owner, Adrian, has an in depth knowledge about wine, particularly micro climates. His knowledge and genuine passion about wines is evident in his wine. He is truly a master of his craft. Whoever James Halliday is, why he thinks he has a wine tasting pallet better than the rest, who knows, but this is not the rated 4 Star, it is a genuine 5 Star show with impeccable flavours. Most wineries make wine to please judges with shallow medal formulas. Adrian is a master and crafts his wine for an incredible layered tasting experience. Do yourself a favour and taste the flavours.

My husband and I visited Tobin Winery in April while doing the wine trail in Stanthorpe. Came across the winery by accident, and it absolutely made our trip. Adrian is such a lovely, knowledgeable guy, happy to spend time with you explaining how he produces the incredible flavours in his wines. Really the best wine tasting we have ever done.

We really enjoy comming to see Adrian here he is so passionate about his wine and they are by far the best (along with Boireann) in the area in my opinion. The entire area is stepping up but i think he has been able to capture the distinct granite belt flavour the best whist still allowing the variety to shine. I always love comparing the difference between Max Shiraz Block 1 &2 and the difference small changes makes.Worth a stop and a purchase -

Quality main stream wines. I disagree with James H's assessment of Tobin's wines - for whatever reason JH has got it all wrong - the wines are top quality estate grown from small individual plots. It is a pleasure to chat with the maker Adrian whose passion is unmistakable. I was delighted to have to opportunity to taste wine from clean glasses for each different wines and pleased to be able to buy wine if sadly in limited quantity. Having been a wine consumer for more that 40 years and having watched the industry develop from amateurish beginnings it is a great pleasure to be able to see the results of dedicated small batch wineries such as AT's making wines of truly international class in an area perhaps that one would not have thought it possible.

Tobin Estate is one of the most boutique and unique vineyards in Stanthorpe. The wine may not be to everyone's taste, as the owner uses different techniques to mature the grapes and develop the falvour. They are also a little more pricey than other vineyards in the area. However, we had a great afternoon tasting the wines and talking to the owner behind the bar was a real education. So glad we visited.

Generally I dont enjoy these. I had not done one for a while, so thought we would with friends for a change. We met the very special "Adrian" who made the experience not only enjoyable, but downright educational. We learnt an awful lot about the vines, selection process, growing, the art of almost hydroponically producing wine in this region. He was passionate and indeed it became clear the wines from Tobin are a labour of love and dedication, with no thought for profits. Well done Adrian, well worth a visit if you get the chance and some of the best Chardonnay and Semillon I have had, and I dont usually like either.

Tobin winery wasn't even on our radar until the man who owns the lodge we were staying at recommended it. Turned out to be the best winery we have been to.The owner was so passionate about his wine and how he grew the fruit. He gave us detailed explanations of every wine and very generous tastings! He was such a character that we stayed for almost an hour chatting and sampling his wines. They are a little more expensive but worth every dollar. My favourite was the Tempranillo, although we bought quite a few different types.Great experience and I will continue buying his wines! If you only visit one winery, it has to be Tobins.

We visited this winery by accident and were a bit hesitant at first. However, went in, and saw straight away the reidel glassware and were happy. Wine was amazing, would not normally spend $45 on a bottle but we did that afternoon. Our favourite winery of our entire stay in Ballandean/Stanthorpe!

We were recommended to visit Tobin, and what a great recommendation. We met the wine maker and had a lovely hour talking about wine, the region and tasting all the varieties. Would definitely stop here to have a taste and pick up a few bottles.

The wines are amazing. The story of how it's done is fascinating. The taste is like nothing I've ever had and I review a lot of wines on the ABC . Even got me drinking Chardonnay again! I signed up for their wine club right on the spot.
