I really like this little museum in the historical house. The volunteer working was a very nice and informative woman. They had information in various languages, including Francais and English. They also had a stair lift chair for those who could not walk. Good little 30-45 minute stop!

Love to learn some local history or visiting the city of Windsor and would love to know more about it's community? The Windsor Community Museum is a great little place to check out for the young and old, with changing exhibits about Windsor and the people that make up this tight knit community. It's not just a museum they are a huge part of Windsor's community as well during riverfront festivals such as the Mayor's walk. The kids can make crafts, take pictures in old fashioned costumes, learn about history and the in house magician well make your little ones balloon creations along with offering magic classes to kids at a awesome price. The staff is very friendly and knowledge. It's more than a museum it's history coming to life with a twist.

In Windsor one cold afternoon, we stumbled upon this museum in a historic house. The house, built by Francois Baby, is packed with historical items that tell the history of Windsor. If you have kids, go directly to the basement, which is full of hands-on exhibits, games, and crafts. (It is aimed at younger kids, but my teenage daughter really enjoyed the crafts.) The basement also has a very clean restroom. The top floor is full of wood carvings donated to the museum by the family of the artist. The museum is free, and well worth a visit!

The museum is housed in an old residence and, though small, very thoughtfully organized. It has a permanent exhibition and other, changing ones.

Although the museum is small, it packs a lot of local history into it. It is worthwhile to visit. The 1812 material has been done really well and is very interesting since it focuses on the local elements.

We really enjoyed this spot, and learning about its great importance in Canadian history. There's a great area for kids in the basement. It's tucked away between hotels and parking lots, but it's well worth seeking it out to spend an hour learning about the War of 1812, bootlegging and more. And it's free!

This is a Museum in early stages of development. What it needs to enhance what it already ahs is some decnt financial support for a City intent on holding property taxes to Zero--it is a great idea and a good little museusm but it needs a City in Suppport.

I am hoping that with the 1812 celebrations this museum will be appreciated more

I loved this museum and visiting it with my family! The kids did crafts downstairs, while my husband and I explore the informative exhibits upstairs. Lots of history in this 200 year old house! Clean bathrooms and air conditioning was just an added bonus :)
