The Negril lighthouse is a short walk from Ricks Cafe and once you arrive there you have this beautiful lighthouse with the Caribbean ocean as your background, it doesn't get much better than that. There are a few places you can sit and relax while looking at the cliffs and ocean and Ricks Cafe is just around the corner.

This iconic spot is a definite must stop on the West End, but be conscious of the fact that this is not commercially run and a hang-out for hustlers. The hustlers are harmless and just looking for a couple bucks (USD) to entertain you some. I personally part with $2 to the hustler of my choosing for a little color commentary and a way to keep the other/s at bay. You will be rewarded with tremendous photo opportunities for your visit. After your visit a short walk North, past The Caves, will get you to Sir D's Lookout...an excellent spot for drinks and sunsets.

It is right next to Ricks. There are beautiful views from the top of the Lighthouse. Also there are cliff divers as this is at the Negril Caves, and a lot less frantic than Ricks. You can go down to the water and check out the caves, have a cliff dive jump for your photo...for short money and take your time. If you want the celebrity...go next door to Ricks when you are done....and always stay for the sunset

recently somewhat restored but did not tour it. instead we spoke with a nice Jamaican named Glen who offered up hand carvings & history. it's what we love about this country.

Once you get bored with the view ask a local to show you the 'running man'. Impressive cliff jump. Nice, safe ladder to get down to the water where you can scramble down some rocks and get in the water, snorkel, or enjoy a spliff in a cave with seats carved into the rock.

The view from the top of the lighthouse is amazing. Our Taxi driver stopped here whilst we were on a tour of Negril. The lighthouse keeper was a lovely man who showed us to the top of the lighthouse, the steps are very narrow but it was nice to see the inside and top of a lighthouse that we wouldn't get the chance to in England. The keeper told us about the lighthouse and showed us the original record book. There is no fee for the lighthouse but a small donation is appreciated. Once we climbed down to the bottom the keeper spent about 30 mins talking myself and my husband about our stay.

The Lighthouse is a nice place to check out the sunset, there is little park there so you can relax and enjoy the view, just remember everywhere you go here someone will harass you to buy some cheap trinket or a taxi driver will ask you for a ride, it gets annoying after awhile, just say no thank you.

Lots of steps to climb but well worth it. The views are amazing, especially the sunset. May not want to try this in extreme heat.

While visiting Ricks for the cliff divers, the lighthouse is just a short distance away. Great for pictures and backdrop for the island.

We were in the area of the Cliffs of Negril so our cabbie stopped by to see if the keeper would take us up to the top of the old lighthouse. We were able to get a quick tour of this older landmark. The keeper lead my wife and I to the top of this lighthouse which offered a really great view of the Cliff's area. He took a couple of nice pictures of us with the blue water below. The fee is just a tip that you deem appropriate. $20 US seemed to go over well.

You will need a knowledgeable driver to introduce you to the keeper. He will guide you to the top. The lighthouse was built in 1894 so the stairs can be tricky.

If you aren't staying at a cliff side resort then this is a must place to stop. Sometimes the locals will help you set a great photo or video to take it home with you. You can go into the lighthouse but the view is great from the shore.

Beautiful scenery especially the view from the top of the lighthouse. The light keeper gave us a tour and was very nice

This lighthouse is right next to the room we stayed in at The Caves resort (Stardust). If you aren't staying on the cliffs, this is a great place to see the view. Keep in mind that the lighthouse is locked, so you can only climb the stairwell about 1/5 of the way up. Just walk to the cliff's edge for a nice view instead. There are a few houses on this property, and a few non-pushy locals selling goods. Some stray dogs roam around here, so watch for droppings! We found a US Navy triangulation marker on the ground between the lighthouse and the coast near the resort, so keep an eye out.I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this lighthouse, but it is a nice stop along the way.
