法国人港湾是个真正漂亮的地方,一个淡水溪流流经这里然后进入大海。这里的海滩干净,根据天气和风,这里时而平静,时而有大浪。这是岛上人们拍照最多的地方之一,也是许多故事片的拍摄地。

我们到的很早,发现海滩上的其他游客,当地人还有员工们都非常热情。海滩上的餐厅里有当地很棒的海鲜,当然是牙买加风格了!

法国人的小峡谷跟海滩小峡谷一样完美。通常情况下这里很安静但是当我们到那的时候相当嘈嚷。尽管如此,我们还是喜欢在波浪中玩耍!有一条非常美的小河从这里流进大海,很棒,很安静而且水很清澈-非常清新!然而进海滩花费不少,我们觉得很值,有酒店的服务员为你服务酒水等等,这些服务员非常热情,一点不粗鲁,因此很棒。尽量早点去,要不然人很多(早上太阳从岛的东面升起来的景色最美)

我从没去过这么漂亮的沙滩,而且我去过很多沙滩!流入大海的河流非常独特,给人截然不同的感受。我们玩得非常愉快,而且下雨让这里景色更加优美!

My boyfriend and I drove from Ochi and stumbled upon this place. Since my boyfriend is a Jamaican native, we were charged 8JMD which was more than I wanted to pay but went with it. The beach is small but very pretty. There were a few people there but not over crowded. I love that there is a mix of freshwater and sea/salt water. I could literally feel the mixing of warm and cool water. Note that the water is ROUGH...not calm at all so make sure you either are a strong swimmer or the life guards are watching you! Lol!

Beautiful setting. Water was perfect. Make sure you have some bug repellent as there are small sand flies which can be a nuisance.

This was the highlight of our trip! Apart from being located on beautiful grounds the cold of the river rushing into the sea was exhilarating! The waves were huge the day we went and everyone had fun jumping into them or riding them to the shore! Watch out for rip tides on the far right though!

Erie ting is NOT arite at Frenchman's Cove! STAY AWAY FROM THIS TOURIST TRAP/MONEY PIT!!!We'd been driving along the coast for quite some time, looking for a nice beach to set down on for a couple of hours, and finally found Frenchman's Cove. From the entrance, everything looked great... well groomed, etc. We spoke to the guy at the gate, and he told us it was $10... so we decided to drive on. After another 15 minutes driving down the road, we decided to just turn around and pay the $10. Upon arriving, we were advised that it wasn't $10... it was $10 PER PERSON. So, we swallowed and said fine, for $10 to avoid the hawkers on the other beaches, we'll pay up. Pulled in, parked, looked around, and the grounds were lovely... but don't be fooled. We got down to the beach, and it was disappointing. Not very large, and the angle the incredibly small cove is to the ocean doesn't lend itself well to swimming. (unless a massive wave pool is your thing) We just looked past that, and found ourselves a couple of available tired, old looking beach loungers, and started setting out our towels. And that's when the "employee" showed up and delivered the final bad news... not only did it cost to enter the place, but you have to rent the loungers. In fact, you have to pay for EVERYTHING ELSE EXTRA. This was BY FAR the most nickel and dimeing place I visited in my entire 10 day stay on the island, and by this point, I'd had it. I told him we'd just spend our last $20 getting into the place (our last day on the island, it was literally our last $20) and we were only going to stay for about an hour... but he wouldn't budge. Started going on about how he was gonna go get "da bossman" and would not leave us alone. So I told him to screw it, we were leaving this hole. (I hadn't even made it as far as the bar, but I'll bet you this would be the most expensive Red Stripe you'd drink on the island to boot)Went back to the gate, and spoke to the "nice" guy who'd let us in all of 5 minutes before... and he pulled the whole, "Shoulda checked yo ticket mon... says 'No Refunds'." We went back and forth for a few minutes, he claimed the boss-lady wasn't in today, so there was nothing he could do, at which point my wife got into it with him... which she NEVER does, which should tell you something about this place. Anyway, then he drops this line on me which should tell you EVERYTHING you need to know... "Mon, dis happen ALL THE TIME, people want der money back, so we put it in RED LETTERS on yo ticket."Did you catch that? "Dis happen ALL THE TIME..."That's right... so many people get a look at the beach, are disappointed, and try to get a refund. But they never budge, so don't even bother trying. I told him I'd put this review up on TripAdvisor, which would cost them a whole lot more than the $20 we'd paid, because you, dear TripAdvisor reader, are reading this right now, and you might choose (I hope, for your sake) NOT to go to this little trap. At that point he gets all miffed at me and goes "You do what you gotta do..."And so... now it's done. Don't make the mistake we made, and avoid Frenchman's Cove AT ALL COSTS. Going here for even 5 minutes was the worst mistake of my otherwise AMAZING trip to Jamaica.PS - Two things that made me smile after this... five minutes after we left, I kid you not... IT STARTED RAINING, and then an hour or so later, I found $20US in a pocket of another shirt I'd worn on the trip... so with both of these, I felt like I'd received some kind of justice after all. ;-)

Frenchman's Cove is a nice resort, but if you stay in Port Antonio and you want just to go there for the beach it is not worth the trip. Its about 10 minutes ride with a route taxi from PA, the admission was 10$US, the beach wasn't very big but i have to admitt it looked very nice, surrounded by a nice garden. The beach itself is hugged by a tight cove. Be careful when swimming - there are pretty strong currents and if you swim too far away it might be hard to go back :-)To get there from PA take a route taxi heading for Manchioneal and get off at the resort, the ride should cost around 200$ JMD's. However we did not do it but consider going a little bit further - if you'r going only for the beach - and get off at the Winnifred Beach (little bit further) which I heard was nicer. When going with the taxi don't forget too get a glance at the trident castle. Take care!

Great place to hang out if you are the Porty area of Jamaica. Absolutely beautiful, especially when there are fewer people. Swimming out beyond the rocks makes you feel that you are in a different and unique world. Great fun.Take your own beach items to enjoy the day. Often there is a terrific BBQ set up on the beach that can keep you going all day.There are rooms and resorts in the area, but have not found anything outstanding. Some of the resorts provide your own cook, which is fun.

Beautiful sandy beach surrounded by lovely palm trees, and waves that were wonderful to ride on! Our Wilks Bay in was right next door so we walked to this beautiful place quite easily. Water was sparkling clean and that magnificent blue typical of the Islands!

My partner and I spent the day on this beach and really enjoyed ourselves. This is the perfect beach if you want to relax and swim without being hassled (it's a private beach so no-one tries to sell you anything). The cafe sells decent lunches and nice drinks also. We loved jumping around in the waves. Be careful swimming though because the currents are strong. The water is really refreshing as a river pours straight into the sea. The only draw back to this beach is there are not many locals on this beach because of the high entry fee. Because of this it feels a bit artificial/touristy. If you want to feel like you are on a beach in Jamaica then go to Winnifred, you won't regret it!

it had been raining and the currents were somewhat dangerous. There was a man that was rushed off to the hospital because he got taken by the currents. We don't know if he survived but after that we were too nervous to get in the water. Beautiful area and nice staff but kind of scary!

Second time to this beach and we just love it. Not too crowded the river meets the ocean. It was a relaxing day and thank good it didnt rain. I would highly recommend this beach.

Frenchman's Cove nature at its best!!! cool water, good relaxtion, friendly staff. Took a walk of the grounds and nature was welcoming. Lovely environs.....Villa #1 had a wonderful breath taking view. Can I wake like that every morning???? awesome, breath taking, loved every moment of it!!!!!
