I ran here with friends in below freezing temps, with snow on the ground, but sunny. It was beautiful and very nice. I have also run here in the spring as part of a 5k and it too was lovely. The park is huge and there are so many more areas to explore. I hear that the kayaking is nice in the summer. I hope to make it back someday and explore more aspects of the park.
First visit to Quiet Waters the other day and enjoyed a beautiful sunny afternoon on the outdoor skating rink. Reasonable prices and not too crowded. Rental skates and lockers available.
This is a gem of a park just outside of downtown Annapolis. Miles of walking trails, ponds, kayaking/paddle board rental and launch, playgrounds, and several pavilions available for rent. I walk in this park almost daily. It's beautiful! During the winter, the outdoor ice rink is a favorite. The cafe serves up sandwiches and hot chocolate. The park also hosts the annual arts festival in the fall which is a perfect opportunity for holiday shopping--for unique hand made gifts.
Has lots of walking paths, pavilions. Has playgrounds for the kids. A dog area and a scenic overlook of south river
Quiet Waters is a wonderful place to bike or walk. Even to ice skate during the winter months. Located along the banks of the South River it has acres and acres of meandering trails, many picnic pavilions, play areas for kids, dog parks. I love this park! My only regret is that it's closed on Tuesdays, otherwise it's just perfect.
I love this park. It's a great little escape from the city without feeling overrun. Lots of great walking/running trails with pavilions available for rental. There's also a dock and a fenced in dog play area, and in the winter they have an outdoor skating rink.
A gem in the middle of the city. We walk the perimeter path frequently and enjoy the trees, creeks, marsh and river views. Ice skaters, dog walkers and kayakers all visit, and the occasional art fairs are fun. If you're a senior resident, get the lifetime pass. It's a bargain.
Quiet Waters is a lovely place for a stroll in a beautiful setting and it is populated by some lovely pavilions for family gatherings or celebrations as well as several reception areas and an ice skating rink in winter. All of this was built with tax dollars and most of the ongoing support is from the same source. For a stroll or beautiful views they get 5 stars. Sadly they additionally dabble in those things they should not. Their rental rates and policies are inappropriate for the market and the entire rental process is amateurish at best. The ice skating rink is working fine after years of very expensive problems. If you don’t like the answer to a question – for example “Can I cater my own party with some snacks” – just ask another staff member for another answer. The private sector side gets 1 star for its awful service and practice. That gives it a 3 overall.
This park is a great way to get away from the hustle and frustration of crowded Annapolis while all the time never leaving! There are trails to bike and walk, paved and not. There are pavilions to use and playgrounds to explore. Take the kids Take the dogs Take your wife, just go and explore the park. Cost is low and there is a main lodge for bathrooms snacks and relaxing inside or out. In the winter there is a public rink if you dare. In the summer there are frequent concerts and entertainment available for your enjoyment. Give her a whirl, you'll be glad you took the time to spend well.
...but so do the rest of us. 5 minutes by water, an hour by land. Tells you something about why this part of the world is all about water. Oh, and for the dog lovers? A great "run" and dog beach.
Lovely park, very well maintained. Great dog park area, and nice ice skating, boat/kayak rentals, music evenings. A real gem.
A great place to enjoy nature with walking trails, dog park, playground for kids and tables for families to have get togethers
Great trails, level, well marked, with some 'off trail' possibilities. The little cafe is a good place to stop. Pity they don't have the dog beach anymore but still a place we love to go with our dog.
Quiet Waters Park is a Beautiful Waterfront Setting with plenty of hiking trails, picnic areas and summer concert area and even a "doggie" water swimming area. You can walk along the tranquil trails, take out a kayak or a paddle boat or a canoe for a day on the water. The park is Dog Friendly as many locals can be seen with their pets strolling the many scenic trails. There is usually an Art Exhibit at the Main Pavillion or in the Summer a schedule of great evening concerts to come out and enjoy. It is truly a "gem" of a park to spend a good part of one's day or evening for some good old fashion enjoyment.
We LOVE going to quiet waters park with our one year old daughter. The playground is really nice as there is a section for smaller kids and a larger section for kids above four probably. Sometimes in the summer it is a little hot because there isn't much shade. There are also a lot of trails to walk/run and some water views. The dog park is pretty large and has grass usually but has been kind of dirt lately. There is a separate area for small dogs and large dogs. This is a great place to bring your dog to get some good off leash exercise and socialize, especially if you don't have a fenced yard. Water is available too which is nice. There is a pavilion area where events often take place with a huge grassy field, an ice skating rink in the winter which is a nice fountain area during the warmer months. This park has it all and is nicely tucked away in Annapolis :)
