Part of the Quadrangle, so visit the museums while there. Nice café on the grounds for a bite for the long day...4 museums to see & the Seuss Garden.

Even though I had to visit in the middle of a snowstorm, it was SUCH fun and I really enjoyed taking photos with the statues. Would love to see it in the warm weather and visit the surrounding museums.

December is not the best time to visit an outdoor attraction in Massachusetts, but even so, there were plenty of children and adults at this trove of sculptures that include all sorts of large and smaller characters from the Dr. Seuss canon. And despite cold temperatures, everyone was smiling and aglow at the artwork...including a striking Grinch as well as Horton the Cat in the Hat, etc.Surrounding the rectangle are Springfield Museums dedicated to Art, History and Natural History with a flair for humor and entertaining children.We are from New York where institutions of this sort are much larger, more scholarly and considerably better strocked. But it is nice to find a place that entertains without overwhelming.

Associated with the Springfield Museums. Sculptures are fun and represent well the whimsy of Ted Geisel's creations.

We visited the sculpture and museum shortly after we moved to the Northeast 5 years ago. It was a great experience to see the history of a man who dedicated his love to entertaining children and adults alike. Well worth the time to visit.

Horton, the Lorax, the Grinch, the Cat in the Hat, they are all here in large sculptures. It is a quick destination on it's own, but combined with the museums, which is an integral part of, it is wonderful. There is a large display of the word of "The Places You Will Go" which sets the tone for the experience. Like nothing else I have seen, a perfect tribute to this wonderful man who has given the world such joy, and helped so many children to learn to read!

If you're in the area or driving by on Interstate 91, stop and spend some time here and take a few pictures of your favorite Seuss characters. Include yourself! Then read that book when you get back home. There's a reason why we've all read these and why we connect with these strange characters! Rain or shine works. Bring a lunch.

It was a fun stop at the sculpture garden, cool to walk around and see all of our favorite characters from our youth. We posed for some cool pictures but then we were on our way ...probably only there less than a half hour. There's not a whole lot but it is surrounded with museums and colleges if you want to check that out too.

You can stroll through the sculpture garden at your leisure and while it's a little hard to find, its tuck in the middle of all the Springfield Museum buildings, it's worth the effort. You can remind yourself of all the great stories from your childhood or bring your children and allow them to see their favorite characters in bronze. My favorite is probably the Lorax!

Great for kids and adults who grew up on Seuss stories. Authentic looking characters; i.e. Cat in the Hat (of course) and a giant Horton that kids can play on.

I recommend the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden for anyone who has liked anything to do with Dr. Seuss. The sculptures are very well done and will bring a smile to your face and will warm your heart. There are only a few sculptures, so don't except dozens of bronzes. The space is free and parking is easy at the Springfield Museums.

I LOVED this place. I mean it was so cool. The statues we so well done and my kids absolutely had a ball. They have a huge Lorax house made completely from branches. Gigantic metal sculptures (which wasn't as hot as I expected, thankfully) of Dr.Suess, The Cat and the hat, and all of The Cat in the Hat friends. We had a lot to do that day so we didn't see everything but will be going back to see the rest!

These remarkable sculptures are in a park-like setting adjacent to the Springfield Science Museum. The large bronzes (Horton’s trunk probably reaches 10 feet) of the major Seuss characters (and Dr. Seuss himself) are well done and arranged creatively. Don’t miss Mertle the Turtle beside The Museum of Fine Art. Wish we'd had time for one or more museums, which opened later.

This quaint little garden contains several very well done sculptures of Dr. Suess and his beloved characters. Although it looks like there is a fee to enter, it is actually free. It takes 15-30 minutes to walk around and take pictures. There are no public restrooms though, so be sure to use the facilities before you arrive.

great place to take photos. nice statue of Dr. Suess. Would like to see more statues in the future. Many people know about the memorial, but don't know where it is. More signage is needed.
