We had an excellent tour with a very pleasant and informative tour guide. This is a small museum and historic house but very well worth a visit. This lovely 18th c. house has been beautifully preserved with all the original details - moldings, floors, windows, doors, etc. - intact, complete with historic bullet holes. Some very interesting American history took place here, so it's great place to bring children. The house is furnished with good period furniture and decorative accessories that help bring history to life.

The Russell House is home to the Arlington Historical Society. Touring the house is very educational and adds new insight to the Colonialists/British conflict. There are still actual bullet holes to view within the structure as well as historic furnishings and a very beautiful painting depicting the Battle that occurred there. The Smith Museum is also there and contains interesting exhibits.

This house has changed very little in 200+ years. There are bullet holes that remind a visitor of the running battle that took place as the British soldiers retreated to Boston.

Another great landmark of the American Revolution. The visit is guided by a very knowledgeble volunteer, a very interresting part of local and U.S History.

This is a great place to visit with your family. The Jason Russell House, built in 1740, still bears bullet holes as the site of bloody fighting on the first day of the American Revolution. British soldiers, in retreat from Lexington and Concord, shot and bayoneted Jason Russell on his own doorstep. Eleven other area Minute Men, who had gathered in Arlington, due to its strategic location, also lost their lives here in the April 19, 1775 skirmish.The house is open on weekend afternoons from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. starting Patriot’s Day (mid April) until Columbus Day (mid October).
