I live in Hot Springs Village, Ar. around 15 miles from Hot Springs, Ar. and Garvan Gardens is my favorite place to visit. I love the different flowers available for the different seasons. I enjoy the walk through the gardens. There is a place to eat that has excellent sandwiches and other food. There are peacocks walking around the gardens sometimes. And in November there is a Christmas light display that goes into December.
I've been there several time throughout the year, and each season is spectacular. Sprng with all the blooms, summer with all the green, falls colors and the wonderful holiday lights, and hot chocolate! Great to bring kids, too. Or your dog. They have a cafe and gift shop that are always worth the trip.
Garvan Gardens is an excellent place to spend the day. Spring time is alive with carpets of tulips & daffodils in a rainbow of colors. Early April the beautiful Azaleas, Dogwoods and Red Buds come into bloom. This place is such a feast for the eyes. Waterfalls and rock formations exquisitely done. Beautiful Koi to watch. The gardens are situated along the lake shore and even on the hottest day it can be a pleasant experience. Handicapped facilities are available and motorized tours also for those that cannot endure the long walk. The glass cathedral is awe inspiring and leaves you with a feeling of a spiritual experience. I highly recommend many visits to the gardens and with the changing seasons it promises something new all the time. I never tire of visiting.
Great at Christmas time with all the lights. Can not wait to see it this Spring. A must see for all ages. Golf carts for those wanting to ride or are handycaped.
The people are really nice and they take real good care of the grounds. The Holiday season is the best. Spring and Fall is beautiful. If you want to have a wedding there, it is the place to be. I have lived here all my life and a lot of my friends have gotten married here.
A wonderful place to visit the outdoors. Plenty of trails that are easily maneuverable. Plenty of varieties of flowers, shrubs, trees to hold your interest for the day of yours visit. The Christmas light display will inspire another visit next holiday season. Totall worth the price of admission.
We went for the Christmas light show. Absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to see the tulips in the spring!
I visit the Garvan Woodlands Garden in November and saw their Christmas lights which were lovely and made for a very pleasant evening walk and enjoyable viewing. There is a wide variety of lights from classy ones to one which are a little more cheesy. The highlight of the visit though was the Anthony Chapel which can be viewed for free outside of the main gardens. It is a beautiful building with spectacular construction. I was able to go inside and enjoy the building from there as well as outside.
We took the kids on New Year's Eve to see the holiday lights. The varieties and displays and the motion of the lights to the music and everything was absolutely amazing. The model trains were great and the kids liked climbing on the old locamotive that was decorated with lights too. You definitely have to go in the spring to see all the bulbs bloom, but coming back at Christmas time to see the lights is a definite must.
Garvan Woodland Gardens is a top notch destination if you visit Hot Springs. Over 200 acres of beautifully groomed gardens of numerous themes. Great walking trails, but also has golf cart rides available. This place is beautiful and it is suitable for all ages.
I've loved this place since it opened and it's only become even better over the years. The only bad thing I can say about my last visit is that someone was having one heck of a houseboat party on the lake and their music was quite obnoxious and LOUD. There wasn't a single part of the planted gardens that you could avoid the music :(
Awesome natural woodland environment with amazing gardens! Be prepared to walk on uneven terrain, or take a tour via golf cart. A must see!
This is a great place to take your family and have a picnic while enjoying nature. The only complaint I have is that I feel the prices are a bit high. Other than that I believe it's a great experience be sure to wear tennis shoes and take some snacks
The park is very large with lots of different winding trails. Beautiful even in February when plants are not in bloom. I enjoyed how interactive the paths were.
Enjoyed our walk through the gardens and lunch at the small stand. We were able to find one geocache here as well!
