Spent over an hour here on Oct. 31, 2014. Many interesting exhibits and very friendly staff. Would be a nice place to have a picnic lunch on their grounds during nice weather. They offer many handouts about Arkansas wildlife, hunting, camping, and things to do outside in Arkansas. Also sell snacks and drinks and a small gift shop. It is free too although they do have a donation jar.

Great stopping place for information on the area and the kids will love the diorama of the wild animals. Maps, local info and helpful staff makes this a good stopping place for visitors and locals alike.

This looks kinda small and unimpressive from the outside. Go inside and it's packed with cool animal mounts, videos and literature. They have a room stocked with free maps, brochures and information on the surrounding area. There's a really nice lady that works there... sign the guest log so she can keep her job!

Stopped here on our day trip to Jasper. The animal mounts are very lifelike. Very educational, and kid-friendly. The staff were helpful as well. Nice place to visit.

There was so much information that I, an avid reader, nature lover and wildlife enthusiast, didn't know about the native plants, animals and history couldn't have gotten anywhere else. There are aquariums, that in all honesty could use a lot of sprucing up, but they held native fish and turtles and there was info about their habitats and local game and fishing laws that would come in handy for a sportsman. There are many stuffed animals, in all stages of life, and there is a table with many different pelts from a large array of local wildlife that the visitor is welcome to touch. Not often does the average person get to feel the pelt of a bear, fox, coyote, squirrel, beaver,rabbit... you get the picture. I only got to spend about 30 min there but would love to have about an hr. There are lots of photos of hunters from decades past when the local wildlife was a substantial part of the average families diet. There is also lots of history of the dept of wildlife management including pics of early efforts to repopulate the area with whitetail deer, boxed in narrow solid wooden crates and piled in the back of a horse pulled wagon!!This little museum packs a big punch.

We were very impressed with the contents and education materials in this museum. It is Jasper, AR after all... population 498. The lady manning the museum was full of local information and history as well. The exhibits were totally unexpected for the size and location of the museum. This is definitely worth a visit if/when you're in the area.
