The Shaw Center produces quality hometown performances. The productions are second to none. I recently attended two such productions and I was thoroughly pleased with the atmosphere and the quality of work demonstrated by the performers.

You'd think this building would belong in downtown Manhattan. But it's right here in downtown Baton Rouge. We enjoy the Manship theater. Not a bad seat in the house.

Beautiful scenery, so much to see. Very nice venue for events but parking is an issue. The outside area is very nice in fall or early spring otherwise very uncomfortable

We came to the Shaw Center for a wedding. What a beautiful venue with a view of the Mississippi River. We got a little lost trying to find our way around inside, but the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Lots of different artistic styles housed in an interesting building with great views across the Mississippi River. Great to see a place like this specialising in the arts right in the middle of downtown.

We loved the catering and the view of the Mississippi river and the bridge was breathtaking. The staff was very friendly and prompt and the restrooms were very clean.

The whole center is very nice especially the Manship Theatre. The deck on the third floor is a great vantage point for the July4th fireworks show. The Manship is cozy with excellent acoustics. Do not forget the soushi and rooftop deck on the top.

We ordered drinks at the bar in Tsunami's...the rooftop restaurant, and went straight out to the terrace to enjoy a fabulous view of the Mississippi River. The terrace is large with numerous seating areas and plenty of room to grab a spot by the railing to take in a beautiful sunset. This a very romantic spot and would recommend for couples of any age to enjoy. You can dine inside, outside or anywhere there are tables on the rooftop. Servers will find you.

I recently visited the Shaw Arts Center while eating at restaurants name Tsumai located on the top floor at the Arts Center, it had a great view, by the way and the drinks are Good. But, I enjoyed the Arts center and it's very interesting things . Great for a family outing while checking out what downtown has to offer. Walking distance to the Old State Capitol, casino, Hotel, Resturat, and USS KIDD.

While visiting family in Baton Rouge, a cousin suggested a visit to the Shaw Center. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at this LSU museum. The exhibit was small but interesting and was featuring an artist who is currently serving on the faculty at the University. His modern art was in real contrast to the rest of the exhibits which included African American artists, portraiture, early New Orleans coin silver and rare jade pieces. The price of entrance was only five dollars. I completed a survey at the end and was rewarded with a beautiful book called "Collecting Passions" which highlighted the collections of the LSU museums. I would recommend this as a stop near the state capitol.

This is the perfect place to visit for small concerts. There are no bad seats and the sound quality is perfect. Little over 350 seats and no one will feel left out.

Excellent architecture makes this Arts Center a joy to visit regardless of exhibition, which are sometimes fabulous. Terrific views of Mighty Mississippi and Downtown Baton Rouge. Observation decks from both L.S.U. Museum of Art (4th floor) and Tsunami restaurant(top floor).

Great place to view the Mississippi River and the downtown area. Shopping area is available, along with restaurants.

About a year since last here and was delighted to catch a well-done retrospective on the late Michael Crespo (there till Dec. 14, 2012), along with the permanent collection. The center is close to several other interesting attractions - e.g. the old state capitol building that is more like a castle than any other capital that have ever seen, the USS Kidd, and the levee. Was able to park nearby during the week and we spent a couple of hours at the Shaw Center.Do go to their web site. Entrance fee is modest. They also have a good museum shop, and there is a pretty good sushi restaurant on the top floor. The top floor allows a nice view of the river and beyond. When the weather is good it is a pleasant place to relax and talk with family or friends. Please do advise if you find this review useful. Thank you.
