What a strange combination - but all three were most interesting. The cypress harvest in Louisiana was quite shocking. Seeing movies of the harvest and processing of cypress trees over 3500 years old was something I had not seen before. I have driven past this museum hundreds of times and never stopped. I can now tell you it is worth a stop to see. Very well done museum!

This museum gave a very good idea of the life of the swamp dwellers and the sawmills. Interesting artifacts. The air part something for plane enthusiasts on this period in the 30's

This museum is small but well organized and informative. One side tells about the cypress and spanish moss industries. The other features the work of aviation pioneers Wendell and Wilkie. For anyone interested in the airplane racing of earlier days - don't miss the excellent movie. .

We took a short trip to see this museum and found it well worth the effort. This small museum has two sides, one devoted to history of the area cypress logging industry which thrived in the late 19th and early part of the 20th century, the other to local aviation pioneers from the early 20th century. The sawmill exhibit has an interesting silent film from the era as well as old artifacts and equipment relating to the industry. The aviation side had replicas of the planes flown, not the real articles. It did have a film relating to early aviation and air racing. Also was a small exhibit about the first Tarzan movie that was shot in the area. This is a small museum that is easily covered in 90 minutes or so. A history buff should enjoy the experience.
