Went on a tour with Steve between Christmas and New Years, 2014/15. We were there during an unusually cold cold-snap, with a group of warm-weather folks ranging from 5 to 78. I'm sure we were a bit of a challenge for Steve, but he did a wonderful job getting us through the park, explaining what we were seeing in an understandable way, making clear when he was sharing objective knowledge and when he was sharing his informed opinion, and was able to acknowledge that other views on park management ad wildlife issues were out there. He was also very concerned to look after our "creature comforts," keeping us warmed and hydrated as we went along. His knowledge of the park ecosystem and biology allowed him to take us to where a recently downed bison was serving as a larder for area predators -- there was a good likelihood of wolves there, though at that moment we had to be happy with coyotes -- and to other sites where wildlife was to be found. We saw wolves (later!), eagles, bison, elk, deer, and even spotted a moose and a pair of weasels romping in the snow. The driver was not only a good driver, but was a student knowledgeable on fish populations in the park, and though we didn't go fish-watching, he shared the saga of local vs. invasive trout populations, and he and Steve good-naturedly disagreed about some aspects of the story -- a valuable reminder of how research is advanced as different folk explore different theories. We were well taken care of, I think you will be as well.

We only spent a day with Steve, but he showed us wildlife biology, history, and natural history of the area. We learned about importance of wildfires, wolves, and more for the park. We must say that Steve is not a guide, but he is the educator of the Yellowstone.

Unfortunately I can only give YGA a 5 star but if they did it (trip advisor) I would award 6!Steve excelled his self and was fantastic with the girls and made our 25th Anniversary! We contacted Steve after using his services 15 years earlier for our 10th wedding anniversary. He remembered us and was really helpful with suggestions on accommodation both visits. It was a shame we did not see more wolves but the amount of wildlife we did spot was amazing. p.s. get up very early or stay late to see these nocturnal animals (hard to do with a 4 and 7 year old). However Bison 1000's, Elk, Mule deer. Saw a Moose (fittingly at Moose, Grand Tetons NP), Pronghorn. Wolves, Coyotes, one with a kill. Foxes with cubs. Bears Grizzly and Black including a couple of close encounters but carrying bear spray and shown how to use it and when and how to extract yourself from a close encounter. Beaver and Beaver dams in Grand Teton and on the way out to West Yellowstone entrance. Bald Eagle, Red Kite and Ospey even one with a fish!Highlight watching the Grizzly on a carcass at Slough Creek with a wolf watching it from across the river bank (probably there kill), whilst 2 others sauntered off into the sage brush. Also a Bald Eagle whom sat in a dead tree watching the bear until it eventually finished with the carcass and dived in quick for a meal. A pronghorn sprinted past us within metres and we saw the Osprey with the fish returning to its nest across the valley! Priceless!!! Pity too far away to get a good photo of the Eagle, Bear and Wolf! Its 5 months ago now but the girls still go on about it!

This photo tour was really worth the price, we saw lots of wildlife & learned about the area. It's a great intimate way to visit the area. I felt we got a behind the scene view.
