river source rafting

river source was the highlight on our trip from alaska to argentina!a very kind owner, good equipment and a beautiful landscape! we could stay over night and jimmy, the owner, was a really good host! it is next to the yellowstone park, but not as crowded. good food in town. top place to explore the heart of montana!we will be back!!!

I don't normally write reviews, but after going rafting with Jason at River Source I was moved to do so. I just spent $100 total for me and my 2 children to go on a 3 hour raft trip, and it was fantastic. The focus of our trip to Yellowstone was to learn about wolves and grizzly bears and hopefully see them as well. We mentioned that to Jason (the owner of the company) at the office just before we were about to get on the river, and what he did next was unreal. He told the scheduled guide, to stay at the office because he wanted to guide our tour. We felt honored and then were delighted for the next few hours as he told us everything about the wolves and bears in Yellowstone! His knowledge and passion for wildlife is just incredible. The best part about it was he told us specifically when and where to see wolves and bears. We ended up seeing 9 Grizzly bears and 14 wolves during our time in Yellowstone! A hundred dollars for this trip was way too cheap. The information and experience was worth 10 times that! Thank you so much Jason! Oh yeah....the rapids were fun, and the river was beautiful too.

had an incredible trip down the yellowstone with river source. holt was so nice, amazing, knowlegable, friendly and was *the perfect* guide. have never rafted before, and much to my surprise (because I'm a dare-devil), was actually a little intimidated. holt made me feel so comfortable and the laid-back attitude at river source was just what I expected in a rafting company. we decided at last minute to change from half-day to full-day, and river source was sooo accommodating. very reasonable price for the wonderful experience we had!! thanks again river source!! love you!!

Jason, who owns River Source with a partner, worked with my husband and I to set up a personal float trip on the Yellowstone river. We wanted to just rent a boat, without a guide, and do it ourselves. He answered our questions and asked us appropriate ones before releasing his boat to us. We had a great time on our adventure. We referred our cousins to River Source for a guided white water trip and they also had a fabulous time. This company is locally owned and owner operated, unlike many of their competitors. Both Jason and his staff member, Noah, were approachable and knowledgeable. When we missed our pull-out and called them from the river, they adapted to the next possible pull-out with humor and reassurance. I would highly recommend this outfitter.

In June 2012, I took a scenic float raft ride at River Source rafting. It was a 2 hour scenic float on the Yellowstone River. The owner/operator Jason Matthews was an interesting and informative guide. He was willing to take me out for the float although we did not have a group together at the time. This was great - no waiting for people to gather. I really appreciated his promptness since I had much to pack in that day, which was the last full day of my trip. The scenery was gorgeous and Jason made every effort to make it enjoyable, since I was a first time raft rider. A true Montana experience - I just loved it. I would recommend River Source to anyone interested in learning about local history and wildlife! Thank you River Source!
