The Waterfront Park has been a big addition to the skyline of Louisville! Very pretty place but it would be nice if there was more eating, drinking and dining places along the waterfront, but the park is a very good start!
Staying at the Galt House the Waterfront was right there and after a busy week of business meetings the quiet was a welcome change. There was some construction ongoing but nothing to intrusive.
There are so many activities at this park! Right on the banks of the Ohio River, there is a large playground, plenty of trails for biking or walking, and even a water interaction area. During the summer, there are also some great concerts on the Waterfront. Check out Forecastle Fest in July every year!
We rented one of the 4-person bikes and rode throughout the park. Incredible views along the riverfront and nice places of interest along the way (including the Abraham Lincoln statue). Word of caution: Certain areas in the path required you to leave the park and ride/walk along the main road, due to construction.
I wish we'd figure out what a downtown is supposed to be, but Waterfront Park is the best idea this little town has had yet. Taking what used to be an industrial wasteland and turning it into a clean, manicured setting that offers something for everyone has been the best thing I've ever seen the city do.
Smaller than I thought (unless there was a part I didn't see?) but it's a cool little stop! It's worth the time out of your day to check out!
Beautiful open space, paved trails, manmade waterfalls, park benches and swings right on the water's edge. Probably very expensive to maintain water features, but it was very nice for a New Year's Day walk.
I loved hter seen and the tiem i spent with my man. It was much very cold though. because it was january.
Stopped at the park on our way home. There are so many little spots to pull off from and enjoy; parking was free, although somewhat hard to come by on a busy day. There were plenty of options for play, lots of pedestrian paths to explore, and lots of shade. I had injured my back and was unable to get down and enjoy the playground with my kids, but I was thankful for ample seating, too. A great way to spend a nice day!
There's always something going on at the Waterfront. We love the music performances and festivals. It's a great area to sit and watch boats and aircraft as well as enjoying the river and people. Lovely walk and parks along the river. One of our favs!
We needed to give our dogs a good, long walk and this place fit the bill. What the city has created offers stunning views of the river and area bridges; the waterfall-like feature is beautiful and the children's play area offered many options for the kids we saw. The grounds were maintained well, we had no problem finding parking and even with a brisk wind off the river, we enjoyed our afternoon.
I thought the park was beautiful because it was organic. You could really feel that the river was the main attraction. The main building was lovely and I appreciated the historical signs along the way.
We parked and walked this area after Sunday Brunch. It's a great place to walk and parking is free YAY. It's a nice open space with lots of room for kids to play, dogs to run, bike riding and families or singles in general.
There are many different activities held on the Louisville Water Front Park. It is located downtown Louisville at the edge of the Ohio River. It is a very attractive place to enjoy outside activities.
I love the river front! This place is a great place to run the kids out, walk the dog(s) see or be seen, or just sit on one of the swinging park benches and watch the river roll. It's peaceful and lovely. Though the bathrooms are gross and the city really needs to do a better job of keeping the clean.
