This is an attraction of unquestionable value in the states list of places to visit. We liked the family style of the place as a whole.

This place was great if you like going back in time. All the different buildings and memorabilia as to the way life used to be. It was great!

We visited Columbus Day weekend when the Railway Village holds their annual craft fair. We spent a little over an hour with the crafters and almost 2 hours touring the village. They have a large building with an absolute knock out display of vintage cars. There is a building with model trains and several buildings with turn of the century tools and household items.Great for all ages.

We came to Maine for the weekend for the sole purpose of going to the Railroad Village. I have been trying see as many of the French Merci Train Cars and so when I saw the Maine box was so close by (4 hours away) we planned our visit to see it. The added bonus was the Harvest Festival that was going on the same weekend. The museums are very, very good. I love to see the historical world so well preserved. The active train and the train station adds to the charm of the village. We really enjoyed everything we saw. The craft vendors were very nice and the food wasn't too bad either. The gentleman in the museum shop was very informative regarding the Merci Car. All around a good day!

We were informed when we arrived that there were mechanical problems and the train would not be running. We still decided to pay the entrance fee. So glad we did. We were given a ride in a model T by the executive director. We enjoyed using the map as we walked around. My wife read the info to me at each stop. The highlight for me was the building with all the antique cars, especially the Packards. It was not crowded at all that morning. After we left we headed for Bets Fish Fry shack.

Going to the Boothbay Railway Village is a treat for kids of all ages. From the moment you walk through the gates, you might hear the conductor shouting " All Aboard " announcing the next train is waiting for you. Once you are on the train, you slowly leave the station ,the bell rings out saying we are under way. On the ride you will see some animals, take some sharp turns through thewoodlands and view some vintage houses making this trip especially exciting for all. This quaint New England village has something for everyone, including a large barn displaying a fine selection of restored antique cars, is sight to behold. There are old railroad depots, old railroad cars and other vintage buildings that are fun to look at plus there is plenty of room to let the children run around. At the end of your visit is the railways gift shop, it too should not be missed. Just go and step back into a era gone by.

My wife and I used our Groupon Ticket her and spent a couple of hours walking around. We enjoyed the short train ride and looking in all the buildings. The have a building with antique cars and another where volunteers are working on a model railroad display which when completed will be fantastic. We plan to take our grand kids there because it is not overwhelming.

This attraction is fun for everyone, but especially charming for rail fans. The steam train makes a circle around the many museum buildings stopping at the top for a station-break, and to leave passengers at the outstanding Antique Vehicle exhibit and the model railroad layout. There are also many other buildings recreating a village complete with church, meeting house, livery stable, blacksmith shop and others. It is a wonderful day of education and fun. We especially liked the "Salt & Pepper House;" a display of over 600 salt & pepper shakers in a quaint cottage. Spend a day here and enjoy the village, train and landscape.

We went to the Boothbay Railway Village because we were in the area. There was way more there than expected! The staff were all very well informed and friendly! The equipment was in good condition, as were the grounds. There were several displays, non railroad related, which were very well done, and of historical significance. Glad we didn't miss this one!

The recreation of a small New England village with the railroad was a delight. The meeting house, the village green, the carriage house and the cars. They had one of the best vintage car collections I've seen. Model As, Ts, Cadillacs, Bentley, formula one and Mrs. Ford's personal car were there on display.

Huge collection of antique cars..some of them very rare. This is also where the Maine Gratitude train is located, a gift from the French after WWII. Both the conductor and engineer where friendly and knowledgable.

This is a great place for kids. Our two young kids could have spent all day here. There's old buildings here from Maine railroad stops, model trains to play with, and unexpectedly also rooms full of antique cars, which even us adults found fascinating as it was the largest collection i've ever seen

We took the kids, 3 and 5, for a day out with Thomas. They had a blast. They loved Thomas, as well as all of the other activities. We spend several hours there and the kids weren’t ready to leave. The people who work at the railroad obviously care about the trains, the culture and the kids. Terrific memories the kids will never forget. Such a great place to visit – worth the drive from Boston.
