new hermon mountain

Took the family tubing this morning in Hermon, Maine. The children, ages 3 to 10, and my wife and I had a blast. The equipment was in good condition, the tubing hill was smooth, the staff was friendly, and the price was reasonable.

Some of the most great people you will find working at a campgrounds. Just very pleasant people who really enjoy what they are doing. No one word answers to your questions or concerns. The owner should be proud to have these people working for them. We took some of their advice in what to see in and around Hermon and Bar Harbor. We took the Steven King Tour and really enjoy learning more about the man and his life. We were able to take our dog Rocco who sat besides the driver of the tour vehicle who was just great and very knowledgeable. He got and deserved a gracious tip from us. So campers Pumpkin Patch in the great state of Maine, goes together like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!

This place is great for a beginner if you own equipment . If you rent equipment the snowboards are all set up wrong and very old at least 15-20 years old . they are all step In set ups . Meaning the binding is in the boot . It's a complete waste of money to even rent equipment here especially snowboards . you might as well get a plastic snowbaord and go to your local sledding hill . And by all means don't mention Sugarloaf because they will start getting rude to you . They don't have 1 jump on the whole mountain . hermon is so boring to ski or snowbaord if you have any skills you will not have fun here !!its unfortunate, it would be a great place if there was a new owner and that new owner put a terrain park and half pipe in . They would actually get a lot of die hard Bangor local sugarloafers and Sunday river boys to come to hermon if they just put a snowboard/ski park and have it under the lights. I would start going back !!and 20 other people that I know would too!!! It sucks we have mountain so close to Bangor with nothing to do on it :(

This mountain is located right near Bangor, Maine. Convenient to all of Bangor's surrounding towns. They make their own snow, have just 1 lift with 60 double chairs, a T Bar that was closed when I visited last night, and they also have a tubing park. A 4-hour lift ticket is only a fraction of the cost of a lift ticket at the big mountain skiing resorts. Just $22 at Hermon Mountain. The lift should have been slightly faster than it was, but the fact that they have night skiing is a bonus! The lodge was clean, large, with ample seating, and the food was reasonably priced. I have my own skis, but I did notice their rental rates were only $15 for a complete package. I recommend this ski resort to anyone in the Bangor area that is a beginner, intermediate, or even expert that just wants to get some time in on the slopes without having to drive for hours to the Western Mountains of Maine and pay a small fortune for a lift ticket & rentals.

My daughter ski's here all winter long. It is a great little mountain and perfect for young kids to get experience and comfortable with skiing.

Very nice little family run ski slope, with two lifts, a dozen or so trails, and best of all, inexpensive. No lines waiting to get up the slopes, and a little refreshment stand to wet your whistle.

Went to Hermon Mtn for a birthday party for Snow tubing and the kids had a blast! The lines were long but the actual wait time was short and the kids enjoyed the pulley to go back up the mountain so they didn't have to walk up with their tubes. For those that don't want to do tubing or what something else to do while the kids tube, there is skiing and snowboarding as well. The snow was well-groomed from all the activities and everyone there seemed to have been enjoying themselves. Had an opportunity to meet and speak with the owners and they were very nice and seemed dedicated in their efforts to create a great family destination for winter fun at a good price. Making current plans to take the kids back from some more snow tubing with a few friends.

With night skiing, good learning classes, and being close to the area,it is a fun area to sharpen your skills.

My daughter just started lessons here this past winter. Great instructors, owner is always on-site, all kids are safe and well behaved. It's no sugarloaf, but its great for evening, after school, quick weekend ski/board, school vacation, and learn to ski! He also has snow made and kept when it doesn't seem possible. Call if you have doubts!
