The temperature changed from 80 to 40, in just a few hours. Drive to Cameron Pass to see moose. Stop at visitor centers. Count on at least 3 hours to get to Cameron Pass from Fort Collins.

Neighbor to the Roosevelt National Forest, the Arapaho offers scenic roads and killer scenery. Especially beautiful in summer when you can smell the pines and fall with its foilage display.

The sights were nice. A much better alternative to the major highways in the area. Best views are in Spring and Fall.

My wife and I went to the forest to hike a trail. We were so very happy we did. The scenes are great if you can get to a higher point. We were able to set up off trail and have a little picnic. The only downside is that the trail we were on was not as well marked as we had hoped. All in all, super fun and stunningly beautiful.

This is what Colorado IS!! We go to Grand Lake every year to go camping in the ANF. The scenery is to die for, fishing is awesome, driving on a back mountain road is an adventure, tons of wildlife!! The only thing that breaks my heart about this forest is the pine beetles had killed so many trees but once you really look around at all there is the trees aren't that big of a deal.

Great, large, national forest, South of Rocky Mountain National Park and west of Denver and Boulder. Great options for camping and hiking. High peaks, great trails with streams and small waterfalls. Fall color and elk bugling as can' misses.

The drive here is amazing and scenic, but we just plugged in "Arapaho National Forest" and it took us right up a single-lane, dirt road up a mountain, with patches of ice draped across it... this wasn't something our 2-wheeled drive rental car was meant to handle. However, you'll be fine if you're careful and get there to leave before sunset when the ice might be too slippery to chance. If you like nature, and want to go somewhere where you're likely not to see another person, this is a good trip to try for.

Wow, the mountains are spectacular, many places too pull off and enjoy the view or later in the season to walk in the streams. The fire recovery will bring much new growth next year.

We stayed in Georgetown, Colorado and took advantage of being so close to Arapaho National Forest by visiting 3 different time while we were there. Definitely take the scenic drives and stop along the way. There are many hidden gems to be found, and great picture opportunities. Also we saw a bunch of different wildlife so keep your eyes open, especially at dawn and dusk.

A nice flavor of Colorado woodlands. Contact the forest home office for maps.

The forest in our lifetime has been ruined by natural predators to pine trees. The green forest is a rusty brown. A natural, not man made damages, but still not the pretty pristine forest of 10 years ago.

There are a lot of good hiking trails. I like to hike here with my dogs. Also, part of the Poudre river is in the National Forest. There are campsites along the river, and the fishing here is good!
