Wonderful hot spring pools with varying temperature and peaceful views of he Sange de Christos. The pools are not quiet if you end up there with the wrong people and the management does not try to enforce the quiet rules, but they are nevertheless very relaxing pools. Hotel is comfortable and quiet, but nothing fancy. No food on-site except for breakfast, so if you plan to stay the night bring your own dinner or plan on driving pretty far for dinner.

Good location to soak, attain spa services and relax. Small establishment with varied temperatures. Soaking areas offered little privacy for a single individual as you were thrown into a group scenario. Prefer small private soaking areas that most location do not offer.

Like the three pools for soaking (different temperatures), view and wonderful flowers everywhere. Next time I will definitely plan to have a spa treatment - very reasonably priced.

The Joyful Journey hot springs is a great place for a weekend getaway; three clean pools of varying degrees of hot water. The continental breakfast is adequate, no surprises there. We stayed in yurt #5, which allowed us to bring our small dog. While the hotel rooms have reportedly been updated (we didn't see them), the yurts really need some attention. Here are 3 recommendations that will cost very little: add one more bedside table: $10; add a least one shelf for clothing: $12-15, and put up hooks at midpoint of the curtain rods to avoid the current droop: $2-3. Could be that now that the hotel rooms have been updated, it is the yurts turn.We will definitely try JJ again, and hopefully the management will spend a little thought and $ to update the yurts.

We stopped here to unwind and relax. It was a very nice estabishment with good facilities. Wish I had time for a massage - but I had a wonderful time relaxing in the pools.

We wanted to soak, but the mosquitoes were so bad we had to abandon the pools. The hotel room was nice but I thought it was overpriced. The view is nice in the evening and the morning.

the 3 hot springs pools are small , the deck area is shabby, but clean. They should tell you when you book that the nearest food is 5 miles round trip, but closed Monday-Wed. The next nearest place for food is 25 miles round trip. They do have frozen food that you can microwave. The rooms are sparse, but clean. I was told this was the spa experience. Thanks, I didn't know that :) .

We stayed in a yurt, which was really fun. Cute clean little room (actually bigger than you'd think) with comfortable beds. The Hot Springs has three small pools, very relaxing. Great mountain views. There is even a meditation path on the property that goes up a little hill. I'd definitely come again.

Very remote place in Colorado, 40 miles north of Alamosa. If you want to relax in hot springs, this is the place. RV parking, tents, yurtas or hotel style acommondation. 3 pools with water temperatures from 98DF to 108DF. Nearby small town of Villa Grove, 5miles or Salida 30 miles. Just perfect for relaxing with amazing scenery of mountains. Take some food with you if you want to stay for more than one day and not to go anywhere. Breakfast buffet included.

Fabulous stop after a few days at the sand dunes. The staff is wonderful and the pools are beautiful. Showers need a much needed update though. Great for the price.

Joyful Journey Hot Springs came recommended to us by clients that had just stayed in one of the Yurts. They told us it was very relaxing and not at all crowded. They were so right on....We arrived at 10:30a.m. and had the place almost to ourselves. This was on a Thursday. There are 3 pools...a 98-100degree, a 104-5pool and a 108 degree pool! Wow, you have to work up to that hot one, but after soaking in 105, it's just heavenly. The place is immaculate. You can drink the water in the pools. There are abundant lounge chairs, lockers clean w/hair dryers etc. and the lobby is just devine---friendly staff and lots of aromatherapy products. Spa also. Lodge, Yurts & teepees for rent. We didn't stay there enjoyed our soak and returned again later in the day after seeing the Great Sand Dunes.
