utah symphony

While I am fairly new to the experience of live classical music, my husband is not. He grew up in Los Angeles California and has been to Europe and visited some of the world renowned music halls. He enthusiastically endorses the Utah Symphony and we have been season subscribers for the last four years, and plan to renew again. BRAVO, UTAH SYMPHONY!

We always enjoy the Utah symphony. The performance coupled with a dinner makes for a fun night out. We hear the best music of the last 300 years

Saw 2 concerts with the Utah Symphony at Abravanel Hall and both were phenomenal. Really top notch orchestra. Definitely worth the trip and a must for any patron of the arts!!

I saw the Utah Symphony while on a ski trip, where they performed Prokofiev, Thomas, and Beethoven.There can only be one word for the entire performance: Incredible!They performed beautifully, and absolutely top notch performers.

I'm not sure if it's the acoustics of the hall that are weird or the current conductor isn't doing a good job of arranging the orchestra so you get a fuller sound. I attended in the 90s and loved the hall and the orchestra. Now it feels like there is something off-balance (too much fuss made over the violins perhaps?). I don't like the conductor's interpretations. I have been there twice so far this season, and have tickets to attend 3 more concerts. I have intentionally purchased different seats for each concert. So far it hasn't made a difference, so that's why I suspect it is actually the symphony that is messed up. Seems like the people are maybe too young...they are good technicians, but this orchestra has lost some sort of depth of emotion.. The lobby of the Abravenal Hall is magnificent though, and the people who work at the hall are very friendly and helpful Wish they served wine.

The music is nothing special (I would go again only if there are some guest orchestra, the Utah one is awful). The hall also needs a good amount of work until you can call it "good".

I have seen Prokofievs' 7th and the New World Symphony performed by the Orchestra in the last year. Both provided great music and a unique experience. The music was varied and well performed.

I really love going to listen to classical music. Performance featured a beautiful violin soloist. Abravanel Hall is beautiful. Most seats are good. Did not like sitting in side seating with my husband because it meant he was seated behind my instead of beside me.

We attended the Symphony's Halloween Hi-Jinx performance and it was amazing. All of your scary, spooky songs performed by the symphony all decked out in costumes with audience participation. Fun times! Even the kids liked it!

Just walking into the building is worth it. It is beautiful. Getting to hear the symphony is a bonus. The building is designed for music and every seat has perfect sound.

Not many communities have the luxury to have such a fine symphony. The building has fine acoustics, so go listen, you will be glad you did. Yes, it is that simple.

The Utah Symphony is unique. For a small arts market, they bring quality in every instrument - partially because Mormons love to make their kids practice something growing up. I enjoy the Messiah done around Christmastime.

My husband and I saw video games live performed by the Utah Symphony. This symphony is extremely talented and definitely worth a visit! They were captivating and silly at times (after all, it was video games...)

The Utah Symphony does an annual Music Festival at Snow Park in Deer Valley and it is always good, even when the main act (Kenny Rogers) is not. Worth going -- sitting on the lawn under the stars, hearing great music is wonderful!

I have attended two evenings here; the Four Seasons with an excellent travelling soloist, and Pictures at an Exhibition. Music has been excellent, the space was inviting and relaxing, and I can't believe how reasonable the tickets were. Salt Lake does an amazing job bringing the arts to the west, impressive for such a small and new city.
