Lake of the Isles is a great place to outdoors in the middle of the city and take in the scenery. Paved paths with lanes for bicycles or roller blades or walking. It can get very crowed on nice days in the summer.
Just returned from Minneapolis where we participated in the Loppet luminary event. While the absence of significant snow turned this into a "walk only" event, it was a well-run and magical winter experience. Congrats to the organizers of this event. Great job.
I have been walking this lake since I was young. Very relaxing, nice neighborhood, paths are clean and clear.
Many of the older and large homes around the Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis are beautifully decorated for the holiday season. Driving can be a little slow getting there and getting around, but if you are relaxed your eyes will bless you with some fine sights.
Nothing like going around Lake of the Isles-walking, running, biking. Great homes, nice waters, 2.6 easy miles. This is vintage Minneapolis and always a pleasure to go in any season. Would like to live on the lake.
This is a nice lake to walk. There are many beautiful homes along the shore. The park is nice, too. This is one of the better neighborhoods in Minneapolis.
some of the fondest memories ever for me--other than that--I will never want to live here again--never ever never -- the winters are so terrible that I have never forgotten after 32 years
I like it better than Lake Calhoun or Lake Harriet but I could think of a lot of other places to go for a walk or drive here in the Twin Cities.
It's not hard to see why this lake attracts geese, dogs, bikers, walkers, ice skaters and all variety of seekers of natural beauty. A beautiful setting surrounded by some amazing homes. The lake is small enough to make a gentle walk or run and beautiful no matter the season.
This is a great little place to house-admire, bike, get off the busy lanes of Uptown. Fantastic and quiet. The full loop is a couple miles so you can get a good run/bike in. The houses in the area are amazing, old school mid-west...very charming. The chain of lagoons makes for a scenic walk.
Minneapolis has such pretty lakes! We went to two lakes and they were both so lovely. The homes are just gorgeous in this area and we went on a beautiful day, so everyone was in such a great mood.
What a great city, you can hire a bike for a few dollars and cycle round the lakes well worth doing. Liked the easy clearly signed bike trails and the politeness of fellow cyclists
Peaceful walk around lake in upscale, residential neighborhood. Street parking. We saw a boat rental place around the other side of the lake.
We rented bikes at Calhoun lake and enjoyed the many bike paths around the city. We especially liked biking around Lake of the Isles... the homes surrounding the lake are beautiful to see!
it's quite quiet, less crowed compared to the other 2 lakes, the houses along are beautiful, good to walk or cycling along the lake
