minneapolis farmers market

This is a why I like expansive farmers markets. The activity, the music, the people from widely varied backgrounds. It's exciting. Then adding great food and personalities just makes it better. No one looked even remotely bored. I don't know how the could be. This market has a great selection. We walked out with fresh flowers, a huge bag of fresh basil, ghost peppers, among many other things. Stuck around to do some people watching if you can! And be prepared to do some walking, as parking isn't ideal and this place is no secret. Good travels, better adventures.

Have been to farmer's market multiple times and loved it everytime ... local products, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, .. and what not ... overall a lively atmosphere

I'd say I've been to a good amount of farmers markets but Minneapolis's will always be my favorite. I grew up going to this market so no market will ever make me as happy as the Minneapolis market. After finding produce and some honey I always have to make my way over to Jim for a beautiful bouquet of flowers to bring home! It's also a must to get a brat and corn on the cob on the way out.

A really great way to see the best of local products. Veggies to free cheese curds to honey sticks...so so tasty. The artisan lot has gotten big now too. Great foods available for munching. Get here early to avoid crowds

We make a point to go to farmer's markets as we travel. This is a great Farmer's Market. There is a wide variety of prepared food choices, art items, and of course vegetables. It is large and diverse! San Francisco, Madison, and Aix en Provence are better, BUT, it is better than Chicago Lincoln Park. Also, the number of markets in the Minneapolis area is stunning. Great prices!

I love this farmer's market. Lots of variety here. While the St. Paul farmer's market only allows things grown in MN/regionally... Mpls has more liberal rules. There are pros and cons to both concepts. I like that things are grown regionally and fully support that but it is nice to access other things sometimes too...i.e. not having to make a separate trip to buy bananas. Parking can be a little crowded, especially later morning but we've always found something. There is definitely something for everyone here!

Huge selection, tons of vendors. Competitive prices, although higher than a grocery store (consider it better quality). Love the clothing, jewelry and prepped food as well. Free parking, dodge the out-of-towners who can't get with the program. You can find your staples for the week, neat gift ideas, have lunch and enjoy the weather!

You want fresh produce, this is the place! There is a vendor who only sells asparagus and it is awesome, fresh, never woody or tough! I love the soap from Dunglohaire Soap, the almond oatmeal is my favorite and there is another soap person who sells Windrift Hills soaps from Montana that are all made with goat milk, also excellent soaps. Flowers and plants galore, fresh herbs, cheese, meats, olives and the most amazing pottery from Evia Pottery. We bought pottery wine cups and have gotten so many compliments when we serve wine in them. Go early to avoid the crowds and enjoy!

This was a last minute add to our Twin Cities itinerary and are we ever glad for that add. After 138 years of operation, this Farmers Market really does it right. We went on a Friday morning so less crowded than a weekend day but still pretty active. The produce looked fresh and beautiful. What blew us away were the wonderful plants and flowers. If I were a local, I would plant from the beautiful abundance of these stands every Spring. Even so, it was so nice to browse through the beauty of it all and watch others buy such colorful and healthy plants.

This place is huge! Fruits, veggies, meats, eggs, honey, maple syrup and so much more. One end has clothes, braclets, chairs etc. and the other is all food and plants. Honestly, I go every weekend they are open, no need to shop the grocery store, I can get everything at the Farmer's Market and it is FRESH! Some vendors offer organic. This is a MUST SEE.

Calling this place a "farmer's market" is a vast understatement. I have purchased clothing, crafts, unbelievable pottery, kids and grownups toys, on and on. it is fun just to walk around and talk to the people that have immigrated from all over the world. People with big and small families just enjoying a beautiful Minnesota summer morning.By the way, the variety and quality of food available puts Whole Foods to shame. Most of the products are locally grown and recently harvested. It can't get much better than this. If you are in the Twin Cities don't miss this place

I was back in Minneapolis for a visit and told my siblings that one of the things I wanted to do was go to the Farmers' Market. WOW was I right! September is harvest time and the abundance, colors, beautiful produce, delicious smells, amazing colors, beautiful flowers, great coffee, lovely crafts - so much in such a small space. We went early on Sunday morning, 7:30 (we also went in the middle of the week, when there are just a few vendors - got GORGEOUS eggplants) before the huge crowds and it was already bustling. Amazing broccoli for $1, incredible peppers, tomatoes, zucchini for very reasonable prices, and more and more....

Went to the farmers market for the very first time. I was impressed with all the different produce! Prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be going again next year and possibly to more local ones in our area. It was a little difficult finding parking, recommend taking the smallest vehicle you own to squeeze in tight spaces. Lots of friendly vendors as well.

Went for the first time today with my kids and in-laws. A little something for everyone from the balloon maker for my 6 year old, to the mini donuts for my 9 year old. We ended up with some sweet corn, fresh strawberries, and tomatoes. All were quite good.

We love to walk around visiting with the vendors and pick up some food to eat as we roam. Dave and Yolanna the coffee cart people have great iced coffees or italian sodas.They always have a fun cooking demo happening Sat mornings.
