This was our first visit to Crossings. We attended the John Gorka concert. This venue is small - I believe it seats 100 on folding chairs. It's fantastic to hear a folksinger in such an intimate setting!During intermission I was able to look at some of the items they had for sale. Pottery, jewelry, fiber art, paintings, etc. Many beautiful pieces and most seemed to be reasonably priced. We drove down from St. Paul for this concert. I'm sure we will return to this gem!
Whenever I am looking for something special for a friend, I stop here to shop. Such beautiful things are always there.... Can't wait to try one of their class as
First of all, Willy was amazing. If you don't know him, check out iTunes. He's a genius on the guitar. (uses a 9 string too) Touching, funny, songs and always one made in the moment with suggestions of material from the audience. I don't know how he does it. They're always astounding. The venue was perfect. Small and intimate with original art of all kinds to be purchased by those of us overwhelmed with the pickings. Managed to buy a lovely glass lamp with paper surround. Very beautiful.Check out the schedule and maybe see a show. A great place to stay overnight is The Quilt and Quill B & B in Cannon Falls. Lovely place with great breakfast and it's only about 15-20 minutes away from Zumbrota.
Crossings has it all! I have been a customer and fan of the art center for many years. There is something for everyone. The concerts at the art center bring in talented musicians in a small and intimate setting. The monthly art displays feature a variety of local Minnesota artists who create innovative works. There are a variety of classes -- painting, pottery, jewelry and creative writing - just to name a few. The classes and concerts are reasonably priced. There is a variety of art to purchase in the gallery - scarves, jewelry, pottery and purses. something for everyone at this Art Center.
