I look forward to the new sculptures every year! It amazes me how much creativity the artists have. It is a wonderful "free" thing to do with family, friends or by yourself!
Unique, fun, and an interesting mixture of work. I like that they change every year and the choices are great. It takes a while to do the entire walk and when you live here they become old friends by the time they are removed. It is fun to see so much talent. What an asset to the town!
While there are many things to draw one to Bemidji, especially if you want to 'get away from it all', the Sculpture Walk adds a cultural aspect that is really special. Take the time to explore ALL the pieces. This will take you from one end of town to the other. Visit some of the local establishments and you'll discover a vibe that's a lot more hip than expected.
The Bemidji Sculpture Walk is a family favorite. Every spring we start looking for new sculptures to pop up as we cruise downtown. My kids love being able to touch and see all the different styles and they make this downtown really stand out!
Out door gallery of many different types of sculpture. Walking guides are available at the tourist info center at Paul and Babe and at business and hotels. Sculptures change every year and the Sculpture Walk is always improving. Thank you Bemidji for this treasure !
Discovered these works of art while visiting Bemidji. Some are good, some are wonderful - my favorite is the Blueberry Bush - but others, such as Minnesota Nice - are also interesting. I am very impressed that the art and business communities have come together to share these sculptures with the public. Well done!
Bemidji's sculpture walk is a wonderful way for local artists to show their work and for the city to make a statement. It says we are proud of our artists. There are often themes for the walk which reflect our culture and what makes Bemidji, Bemidji.
Fun way to see downtown, do a little shopping and enjoy some interesting art. Get the map at Paul Bunyan garden. Really enjoyed a nice stroll with very interesting art along the way. And it's free - although our Pub stop did add to the cost!
Ambitious, fun, unpredictable. Every year is an adventure. Take your kids. Downtown Bemidji is a great place to explore. Be a tourist. Do it.Also visit the History Museum, downtown.
This is a great addition to Bemidji, and it is a fun way to walk the town searching for the different sculptures. Stop at the tourist info center near Paul and Babe to get a sculpture walk map, then hit the trail!
Beautiful sculptures from local artists. Many of the sculptures change each year, Bemidji is a wonderful town and it is a great way to see downtown and great artwork!
Each year our outstanding arts community selects sculptures and locates them throughout our quaint downtown. They are labeled and you can pick up a tour brochure at the tourism building by Paul and Babe.
Quirky, delightful, well-done and fun! Of course, I visited in the summer - don't know how long I would want to linger in December. Or walk around town...wind off the lake, y'know.
Different sculptures placed all over the downtown area and along the lakefront showcases some very talented artists in the area. Great on days where you want to just get out and walk.
Bemidji displays a variety of sculptures on street corners all year long. From eclectic to traditional the Sculpture Walk is bount to have something to catch your eye. You might not agree with each artist, but they are interesting. The sculptures are sponsored by local businesses and many are for sale.
