I took my son here on a nasty weather day and for a change of pace. We are mini golf buffs and have played some imaginative courses up and down the east coast. On the plus side, Monster Mini Golf did have a roof to shelter us from the elements, and as advertised, there was a monster theme. On the down side, the décor consisted of Halloween decorations scattered about a black lit room. A for effort to create the space, but C- for creativity. And for $17, I expect more then decorations and black lights. The room was eye-catching, especially when you enter and for the first few minutes, but not nearly enough to be exciting for the whole time there, not even half of the time. After the ghouls and lighting wear off, we did want to play good mini golf. The course itself was below average and needed more imagination. It was mostly right angle turns (a maze to fit the room) and minimal challenges/hazards on the course. Not even close to most outdoor courses. We have a simple test for mini golf courses: At the 18th hole, did we wish there was more? or were we ready to pack it in before the 18th? Unfortunately at MMG, we got halfway through and my son was asking, 'how much longer is this going to take?'Won't be back. Next time if we're looking for indoor, bad-weather dark-lit activities, we'll go to laser tag instead of MMG. Sorry.
Not a bad family experience, especially if its oppressively hot or frigid cold! Its not too expensive, easy to get to and the kids love the black light experience.Highly recommended for a fun time. (I do not recommend the birthday kid party experience)
A great way to spend a couple hours on a rainy day, an oppressively hot day or any day when you feel like doing something indoors. It is cool, dark and has the whole monster theme going on. Everything glows in the black light including you clothes! The course itself is challenging. It can get crowded sometimes and there is not much room to stand when waiting between holes which is a pet peeve of mine. There is also an arcade area with a few video racing games, air hockey table, mini basketball, skeeball, etc. You can almost always get coupons for free golf games which saves a lot of money. Good time! When you done, go over to Kohr's for a cone or an orangeade!
Great place to take kids on a rainy day. Nice and cool and the kids had a blast. The youngest was a little scared at first but in a few minutes was the bravest of the grandchildren.
My kids and their friends like Monster Golf. They told me, "it's fun, cool and they love the glow in the dark stuff." It's fun for kids about 6 yrs old and up, as it could be a bit scary for the little ones - use you best judgement. We have attended several parties there over the past few years and have to say that it's a neat place for the kids to play and have some fun especially on a rainy day. Staff is welcoming and responsive, environment is dark but glowing and fun, and the kids will certainly enjoy it more if they wear white clothing so they can also glow in the dark. Besides playing golf, the kids can also play arcade games to win tickets for prizes - nothing special but the kids do enjoy it! The party rooms are clean and parents usually have spot to sit if you decide to remain for the duration of the party. Overall it's a great experience for the kids - as for the adults it could get a little bit boring for some. Prices are pretty reasonable and each birthday child has the opportunity to place their hand print on the wall. Have fun golfing!
