You know you are in Church when you walk in here. Between the glass stained windows and the loft for the organ and choir, you feel like you are in Europe. Even if you are not Catholic this is worth seeing.
We spend our 27th anniversary weekend in Fort Worth, and was walking distance to the St. Patrick's Cathedral, so we were able to attend mass on Sunday morning. We were fortunate that we were so close, because it is a beautiful old church. The stained glass is amazing, and from the outside, you might not be that impressed, but the inside is beautiful. During mass, the choir was excellent, and the sound of the organ filled the church. Well worth stopping by to see if you are in the area, definitely worth attending mass if you can.
This a beautiful cathedral to drive or walk by and look at it's architecture and stand in awe of it. It demonstrates an era gone by in which things looked so beautiful and were so well built.
St. Patrick's is a beautiful landmark located in the middle of downtown Fort Worth. A great place for travelers to see some beautiful architecture.
Our experience was to hear and participate in a Mass & enjoy the historical items and atmosphere of the area. It is truly amazing how well some historical buildings and especially churches are so well preserved. It is truly a community work ethic to make it work. We travel full time and are blessed to visit so many Catholic Churches...but the well preserved Historical Ones are the most favorite. It makes our Sunday Mass Experience awesome.
I went to church here my whole life and have fond memories of it. To this day I still like to attend, and I'm not even religious. The artwork and statues inside are beautiful, it's worth going to see like a museum. Inside there are guidebooks that tell you about where all the artwork came from, and when it was acquired. And the music during some of the Sunday masses is beautiful. Not pop-church music, more like something you'd imagine hearing in Europe... in fact, being in St. Patrick's almost makes you feel like you're in Europe. And that's a nice feeling.
More than I though it would be. Just be aware of the time that services are on. It is very nice inside and we got to see a service in progress
This is the smallest cathedral I've ever been to but in 2009, it became my home church. No matter what your faith, please come and learn about the history of this gothic-style structure and its significance in Fort Worth history. The mass schedule can be found here: http://www.stpatrickcathedral.org/ Please come for mass or if you want to do the "tourist thing" and take pictures and walk around, please do so an hour before mass or immeidately after mass to respect those who might show up 30 minutes to pray and prepare for the service. If you're there on a 3rd Sunday morning and you're hungry, look for signs for the pancake breakfast hosted by the Knights of Columbus. Enjoy the cathedral complex and please feel at home because all are welcome!
This was actually my 11 year old nephew's idea. Although not as large as since other cathedrals still is impressive. Lovely inside, very peaceful. We were not able to attend mass services here but would love to come back to do so. We loved it and enjoyed being able to visit.
I went to see this place because of its architecture. Not a architecture pro, but I always love to visit the historical sites.Loved the place and the serenity around.
This Cathedral is rather small compared to European Cathedral's but it has nice stained glass windows and simple decorations. It is very peaceful inside and nice for meditation and reflection.
Beautiful church in the downtown area. Son and his wife were married here. We are from out of town but everything went smoothly. The support staff was friendly and helpful.
Nice church in downtown Fort Worth- went to mass here on a Sunday and it had a very nice feel to it. Doesn't seem worth a special trip but if you are looking for a place to go to mass while in town, or if you are right in the area near the convention center, you might stop in.
One of the most beautiful churches I've seen! Worth the effort to find it, even though it was kind of hard with all the one way streets and no directions to get there but we finally found it!
Very old world. Beautiful inside and out. Right in the heart of downtown Ft. Worth. The soloist on Christmas day was exceptional really enjoyed her voice.
