nacogdoches railroad depot

This is a beautiful old depot from the outside but don't plan on seeing the inside on weekends. For some reason the staff who works at this depot doesn't work on the weekends so all you get to see is the outside. Must not figure tourists visit on weekends.

My son was always fascinated by trains and the foks here deliver during the annual Christmas festivities. His last christmas we went there to see the exhibit, basically a very complex toy train run set up in the depot. He LOVED it and we spent more than an hour watching him enjoy himself. It was truly a wonderful memory and I thank all the train collectors who helped make it a wonderful time.

Beautiful old building. Would be nice if the fence wasn't on the side toward the tracks. The best view of the depot is from that side.

Great Renovation of the old Nacogdoches Freight and Passenger Depot. The grounds are also very nice. The inside still lacks completing but if you in town, it is worth a drive-by. If you like photographing trains, the tracks in the rear of the depot are fairly active. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
