Great wine, atmosphere, and staff. We enjoyed sitting on the patio sipping our wine and listening to the live music. We loved it!
Well if you are a wine snob, you probably already know that Texas has some of the worst wine on the planet. Having said that, Christoval vineyards puts out a great quality wine. The vineyard and tasting room is a pleasant escape in West Texas. Whether you live in the area or just passing through, I strongly recommend a tasting at this place. The tasting room manager is fantastic. Catered events are nicely done, although the food is above average at best, the wine is excellent always. We have tried dozens of Texas wineries and none compare to Christoval. We will still drink their wine after we no longer live here.
My husband and I dropped in here one afternoon while we were in San Angelo for a family event. We enjoyed the tasting and the laid back atmosphere. The grounds were pretty, and we liked being able to sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine in the sunshine. The pizza smelled amazing! If we go again, we'll remember to come hungry. Our only complaint was that the wines seemed overpriced--by the bottle and the glass--for the quality. But it's still a good stop for those in the area looking to turn their weekend into a get-away.
What a nice place to visit!!! The wines are exceptional; probably some of the best in Texas. Staff is very knowledgeable, courteous and fun!! A very relaxing nice experience in the middle of west tx. Will be back often!!
Love the Christoval Winery! Great place to spend a Saturday on the patio listening to live music and great Texas wine! The staff was very knowledgeable about the wines and very welcoming! My family was staying at the Hummer House for a reunion and we decided to add the winery to our itinerary at the last minute. So glad we did! Everyone found a wine we liked and it made our weekend extra special! We hope to come back every year!
I was part of a group of about 30 that came for a private tour/tasting and wine dinner. The service was excellent! The dinner was excellent--one of the best meals I've had in a while with matching service. The wines themselves are above average but one of those things that the tasting gets better the longer it goes!I saw a couple of very negative reviews and we saw none of that. Beautiful grounds too!
On the occasion that I have been out to the winery the customer service has been lacking. On numerous occasions I have entered the winery for tastings and was repeatedly ignore by some of the women working there. They were either too busy talking with each other or on their cell phones. I feel like the service used to be better in 2011 and Spring 2012. The vineyard used to be a nice place to relax and possibly have a nice date with ones spouse. Now, it's filled with trashy people who get too drunk and make fools of themselves. Most recently, some of the pick-up-parties I have been to, one of the managers (who is a bleached blonde woman) got drunk both times!!!! Where I work she would of been fired immediately, yet she continues to work there and get drunk at the wine club member parties. Also, I have heard the owner repeatedly talking down to some of his employees in front of customers using vulgar language! When is that ever okay to cuss out your employees?!? I don't know how one can work under those conditions. I have even been to some weddings out there with the owner talking down to the bride and treating the wedding party like it was a privilege to have their wedding out there...even though it cost $3500. I've even witnessed the owner calling the bride a few choice words! With the cost of the wedding you think the owner might be a little nicer!!In conclusion I will not be returning. I'd rather make a trip to another city and be treated the way a customer should be! Plus, I'd rather not deal with the drama between the employees and also the owner.
September 15, 2012 my husband and I got married at this location. It was a very nice place, however we weren't to impressed with the service. The owner of the location is in charge of all involving the rental of the venue. We didn't feel that we got the service deserved for the price of the venue. His clean up crew was nice though. To many negative mishaps occurred during the rental time and Drex Vincent didn't show what we think was good customer service. His tacky unprofessional comments and attitude didn't help matters either. It literally took the family/friends and the special moment of the occasion to keep our spirits up during the whole time, other wise it was very easy for our special day to dampened not by the weather BUT THE POOR SERVICE !The place is attractive , but we both agree that we will leave it as that!!!!
This place us in deed nice , however in my expierence , it's a shame that the service there was not worth the expensive price !! The person(s) in charge are extremely unprofessional , rude and just plain crude ! The man was present the whole time , setting up and during the entire wedding . Breathing down your neck with a mean face . Not to mention his rude comments and attitude. A bride an her party shouldn't feel uncomfortable the entire time , most importantly the bride !! Can you imagine the bride the day before and the day of being treated as if" she should feel privileged to be there" on his 25 acre estate , when it was rented out for $3000 plus deposit !!!! So very wrong .. This is my genuin opinion due to my experience and wish for anyone to never have to go through that kind of nonsense on a very important day , only plus side ,the clean up crew was respectful and should be in charge , hired help is needed for other reasons than Cleanig up . As far as the winery , it may be pleasant , as long as you don't rent it out for any event and only spent $25 on wine .
A nice chapel with a separate bar section. They often have live music and a wine tasting is available most of the nights. I like the quaint style in a nice shaded area.
I attended an event at the vineyard. What a great time was had by all. The staff and location were just awesome. With the rain the area has had this year everything was green and lush.
beautiful grounds and great wine. as a venue there is about a 250 people limit. They atmosphere and vegetation are wonderful.
What a beautiful place to have a wedding. Thoughtful and friendly staff.
