Beautifully kept golf course. It is private but accessible to most people in area. (If you buy a set of tires, I am sure they will let you in....)

Goodyear is an excellent venue. Challenging holes, great scenery and a staff that is eager to help. Well worth the trip and a great value. As Judge Smails would say, its "Top Notch"!

The Goodyear Golf Club in Danville, VA is supported and managed by the Goodyear Company. The plant is across the street, but is only visible on a couple of holes. The course resembles a mountain course, although it is located in the Piedmont area of North Carolina/Virginia. It is just across the North Carolina state line. This is a private club that allows outside play. Just make sure you call to arrange a tee time. The members appreciate outside play, but frown upon walk-ons that are not members. I have played this course many times and just love it. The grounds are well maintained. Didn't see a speck of trash anywhere on the course. The greens and fairways are always in great shape. Most of the fairways slope either left or right as it is with most hilly courses. Very friendly pro shop manager. You can't beat the rates. $31 weekday rate. $26 weekday Senior rate. Includes cart. My USGA index is 8.7. Senior tees play about 5800 yards with a 68/125 rating. Well kept secret.
