Ogle The Huntington House. Then admire the Town Green. Visit the railroad station and the Windsor Arts Center. From the Windsor Arts Center walk south until you find the River Trails trail head. Take a nice walk. Then tour the Loomis-Chaffee School campus. For lunch try Nate's, Union Street Tavern, or the Whistle Stop Cafe.

The building has been transformed into office space and is no longer open to the public. It is a big White House between the library and town hall. The folks at the library are very friendly and recommended the park and the river trail instead.

At first I thought there must be a SECOND Huntington Museum in Connecticut, but when Pinkie and Blue Boy were mentioned I knew there was an error. These paintings are in the Huntington Museum, Library and Gardens in San Marino, California. Lovely place to visit but not in Connecticut.

My daughter took me to visit here as she had spent a lot of time doing reserach for her PhD. What a beautiful place to visit! The grounds are meticulously maintained and it is so serene and relaxing. The Japanese and Chinese Gardens are beautiful. I could have spent hours just sitting and taking in the views. There is so much variety and beauty. The Rose Garden is a true delight. There are also Australian and Desert Gardens as well. There are also museum pieces and timeless art work including Gainsborough's Pinkie and Blue Boy. Parking is free and there is a $15 admission which is so cheap for all there is to see! Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring sunscreen or an hat/parasol.
