This place is so much fun to visit! The auctioneer, Rich, is funny and knowledgeable about what he's selling. If you go early enough, you can purchase excellent pie and, surprisingly, the coffee is pretty great as well! Then browse and be entertained. If you're serious about looking for some antiques, they have them, but each week varies...and if you stay later, you will get better bargains! Definitely worth a visit!

Want to experience a real auction, with cool stuff? This is the place to be in the Farmington Valley on a Saturday night. The auction is almost like live theater, but you can also take home some cool stuff. I love my recent rug purchase! And, the make pie! Lots of it - so many kinds. Even if you aren't there to buy that night, bring money for pie. Tip: Get pre-qualified to participate in the auctions. This is a one-time registration thing, and then you are good to go. Also, bring cash or a check - no CCs.

The thrill of an auction with a taste of some great pie. Arrive at 5 grab a pillow from the back and reserve your seat. Check out the pie at the back...at least 10 types on any given night. Reserve your pie piece. (They go fast). Register to bid...if you have ever been there then they have your info! Check put what is up for auction. Everything on the stage and I front. Take a few trips you might miss something. Then head back and grab your piece of pie take your seat and wait for the action to start. The auctioneer is and runners have been doing this for years. There are no numbers here just your name is needed on your first bid. There are items that range from very expensive to dirt cheap! (Good deals). Great away to spend a Saturday night and you might come away with a nice find!

If you are ever bored on a Saturday evening, and you want something to do. Take a drive to Canton Ct, To the Canton Barn Auctions. Its held every saturday evening. It starts around 7;30.. They have a wide array of antiques and collectibles to sell every week.. The owners are Richard and Susan Wacht. Very nice people. Richard is a very amusing chap, has been in the antique auction business, since he was a kid. He is extemely knowledgible, in these areas. He is also very knowlegible in the pie baking area. He bakes 13 differant types of pies, every week, to sell at his snack bar in the back. These are all homemade, from his mothers recipes, that were handed down to him. Every week he bakes them! I think he has even published a cookbook about them his pies are drop dead delious!. Awesome place to be on a saturday nite! Sorry children under 16 not allowed.

I love the canton barn. It is a great Saturday night out - they are open almost every week - check website for few times they are closed. . We usually stop by to preview at 5:30, reserve our pie and seat and then get some dinner before returning for the auction at 7. The items come directly from homes and the owner does the entire auction with no reserve prices and no buyer fees. I would describe the items as low to mid level antiques - affordable and nice. It is fun to bid and just see how much each item sells for. The pie is homemade and a treat. The building is very old and rustic and the chairs are a little uncomfortable but don't let that scare you away. I highly recommend a visit and you will be hooked.
