Was en route from Jackson to Baton Rouge and chose this route to avoid boring freeways. Glad we did. It was quiet, peaceful, scenic though not spectacular, and a way to connect with a key route of yesteryear

We rode the parkway (beginning to end) in our 31' motorhome while towing our dinghy. No problems, no traffic. 50 mph, scenic drive. Quiet, peaceful, interesting. No streetlights so not good for night driving, especially with all the wildlife. Roads are more twisty on the Nashville end. Lots of places to enter and exit. Scenic pull-overs.

This was a great 3 mile hike. We saw deer and armadillos. Birding was great too. The trail was beautiful!

Visitors definitely would want to drive north on Hwy. 61 about 12-15 miles from Natchez to visit the Historical Jefferson Military College site for the old buildings, the Twin Oaks where Aaron Burr had his dual and then to The Natchez Trace to Visit Emerald Mound which is like no other Indian mound you have ever seen!

Until you actually get onto the Natchez Trace Parkway it is hard to understand how easy it is to travel the Trace, how much history is along the way, how remote and yet how close to highways you are! For sure take the whole road or, for sure take any part of it! Great, great experience.

Driving the Trace was a delight. Allow ample time for numerous stops and a 55 mph speed limit. There is very little traffic, and NO 18 wheelers. You will see plenty of wildlife and experience little of the Americana, that most does not know exists. Plan to eat at Loveless Cafe at the end of the trip. Loveless Cafe is near Nashville at the beginning of the Trace.

The Natchez Trace is a 444 mile highway from Natchez to Nashville that doesn't allow commercial vehicles. No Truck Traffic. You can begin at the beginning or you can enter at many spots along the way. We entered the parkway at Port Gibson and drove to Natchez. There are places along the way to picnic and exhibits to visit. Our 40 mile drive was peaceful and beautiful - a unique driving experience these days.

I took this drive from Natchez to Vicksburg, and it was well worth the extra time. We had taken Hwy 61 earlier from Vicksburg to Natchez. It is a National Park, two-lane road through beautiful forested scenery - with no signs, businesses, eye-sores, or other man-made distractions. There are some stops along the way, but the scenic drive is the real reason for the trip. Take the extra time and enjoy this road.

this was my fourth trip, on the southern part of the trace, all south of Jackson, MS. it is a nice two lane paved road, that appears to be in the wilderness, with some nice attractions along the way. DON'T DRIVE ON THIS ROAD IF YOU ARE IN A BIG HURRY, IT'S NOT FOR YOU[and the low speed limits are enforced.] let the people who want to amble along at 45 and 55 enjoy it.when you see an attraction, pull off you might find something that interests you, like an old house that served as a hotel, or the unbelievable emerald mounts. you might drop off for a side trip to port Gibson and or the Windsor mansion ruins.

If you don't want to see billboards, electricity lines and lots of other traffic and you like to see green, nature, and prefer a good road quality: this road brings it! A great quiet stretch from Natchez, through Jackson MS to Nashville TN

Took this instead of Hwy 61. It was like a paved path through the country side and no traffic. Found the Emerald Mound off this road.

Took the Trace from Vicksburg to Natchez. Although we did not have the time to stop at every landmark, the drive itself was worth it. The countryside is beautiful-even in January. Would recommend this route when traveling the area.

We traveled the parkway from Tupelo to Natchez. We basically had the road to ourself the whole way. It was a relaxing and beautiful drive with no trucks, little traffic, no towns to maneuver through. We stopped for a rest room break to be pleasantly surprised at clean and heated facilities.

What a pleasant surprise. The route is quiet, scenic, and historic and such a nice respite frmo highways. We were traveling cross country and decided to go to Natchez via this route.

We had a wonderful time driving along and taking in the sights. We saw some wildlife, enjoyed some American history, and went for some short jaunts into the cypress swamps. Highly recommended! Very well maintained and offers something for everyone.
