Grandkids have a blast, but it is expensive ..it could run close to 200 hundred for a family of six. It's nice but again expensive. During the summer you need to get their early, as there usnt a lot of kid oriented places in Gulfport.
You only want to go in first few weeks they open. The water is clean and beautiful. After that it stinks. Food prices are very high and drinks are even higher. I watched from opening to close the people who use the rest rooms and oh my word well one yuck when and where to they pee? The water in the park or the side walk as they are walking not a place to go unles you are a fish and are used to swimming in pee and who else know what spit ect...
The water park is always fun! Prices are a little high so if you get a coupon use it! leave the cooler with food and drinks in the car. You can come and go when you please. The prices are pretty steep for a family park ( but hey they need to make money too) The lines are very long for the slides and the lazy river gets crowded. Shame it wasn't made bigger to accommodate more people and make it feel less crowded.
Had a great day at the waterpark. My only complaint would be that the locker rentals are super expensive. Being that there are not a lot of places in the area to buy any possible forgotten items the waterpark should sell any items you might need like sunblock or rashguards. It would be nicer if there were easier and healthier food choices as well. Overall was a good time for the cost.
Great Idea for to take young children they can ride anything at 42"... BUT keep in mind this park is geared towards younger children, so with that in mind when we had bad weather Sunday August 17 and lightening showing no signs of clearing up they kept a lot of families with small children hunkered under small shelters. They refused to pass out rain checks saying it will pass in minutes we waited 3 hours and finally left. The concrete is super slippery someone could get seriously hurt. The employees are disrespectful and very rude. NEVER again will I return.
We visited Gulf Islands on Wednesday before school started back. It was more crowded than expected (maybe because it was the last day for members to use their 'bring a friend for free' coupons.) It was still an enjoyable experience for all 11 of us. We paid $25 per person and thought it was worth it. (Found $5 off coupons when I googled MS Gulf coast attraction discounts.)The park is best suited for toddlers through preteens. There is a large toddler and little kid area with 4 slides. There are 5 other bigger slides, a lazy river, wave pool, and a few other attractions. In spite of the crowds and arriving an hour after opening we were still able to find a table to put all of our stuff for a home base. There were also plenty of inner tubes available all day.The lines for food around noon were pretty long, but if you eat at off hours they're not too bad. The food was good and not overly priced. The best thing about this water park is that it's small enough to let everyone do what they want to do and still be able to basically keep an eye on them all.
I visited Gulf Islands on a recent trip to New Orleans to visit family. Overall, we had a good time. Unlike other complaints that this park is too small, I don’t mind that at all. There was just enough to keep us entertained.Luckily, my other family members, who had season passes, had a coupon for entrance so the entry fee wasn’t too bad at all. We arrived around lunch time to find quite a few buses in the parking lot. My family said it was definitely more crowded than it usually is. To me, it seemed just fine. At first, we couldn’t find enough chairs for our group, but some opened up as the afternoon went on. Not really a problem to me since we were on the slides, etc. I never had a problem finding a tube and the lines weren’t that long. Also, the water was a nice temperature. Two days after visiting this waterpark, I went to one near my house, which just opened last summer. We encountered lots of problems (rental tubes, freezing water, etc). In comparison, Gulf Islands was really nice. Even my 8-year-old liked Gulf Islands better than the new one that just opened near our home. I can’t comment on the food as we had packed a picnic lunch and went outside to the grass area to eat.Overall, we had a really good time and I would go back when in the area.
The prices are kind of high for such a small water park. We had to pay the adult price for our 4 year old just because he reached the height requirement to do the big slides....even though he would NEVER do them! There is plenty for young children to do. Our 2 year old had a blast in the play area and kiddie slides. Our 8 year old enjoyed the big slides. Can't comment on the food as we didn't partake of it. Beware though...if it rains out your day there are no refunds or discounts back in. Doesn't matter if you were only there 30 mins. Summertime thunderstorms are very common here, so plan your waterpark day accordingly.
We went on a Saturday, arriving at noon, only to find a totally packed park. Out of the hundreds of lounge chairs, maybe 1 out of 20 had an actual person in them. The rest were "reserved" with towels, bags and shoes. I finally found a single chair, and our family of 4 had to share it. In the near vicinity there were about 8 chairs with towels spread on them. I spent 6 hours in the chair (reading) and never saw anyone use the chairs the entire time until it was time for their family to leave. I asked an employee what their policy was, and she said "first come first served". They could care less that many people were wandering around or sitting on the ground while empty chairs in primo spots went unused. The lines up the water slides went the entire height of the stairs. I do not enjoy waiting that long for a 30 second ride, but other members of our family did. The line took 1 hour just for a single slide.Waiting for food also took almost an hour. We had to take shifts waiting in the line in the hot sun for a single employee to take orders.I would not recommend visiting this park until they add more slides and operate more efficiently to handle the crowds.
We will not ever return to this Waterpark. The pricing was ridiculous. We had to pay full pricing even for the kids. Junior pricing was for 3year old kids and younger basically (had to be smaller than 42 inches). The lines were ridiculously long. The lazy river was jam packed. There were not enough tubes for the number of people at the park. The kids area was the only enjoyable part.
We got there an hour before opening and it was crowded. Not enough tubes people were pushing every where u went..lines for slides were to long and after 2 hrs we couldn't take it any more and left for the money we spent for 2 hrs just ain't worth it....will never go again
Have been several times and each time was equally disappointing. Too crowded, not enough tubes, tried several times to get a tube on the lazy river and there were never any available. The lines for the water slides are ridiculous and the employees don't enforce the rules. It doesn't seem to matter what day or time of week you go it is always crowded! We will never go again.
Went to the waterpark July 4th weekend while visiting son based at Keesler AFB. The park is very small. There are only about 5 water slides for adults/older kids. There was a little bit of a wait for a few of the slides but nothing extremely long. We enjoyed the racing slide the best as well as the Camille Cutter. The Horn Blaster ride was not fun. The tubes need to have bottoms to them as your butt drags on the slide and at times you feel as if you are going to fall thru the tube. After 2hours of being at the park we were ready to go. We have been to a lot of waterparks but this one was by far the smallest. The park is not worth the 29.99 price per person. As small as the park is they should only charge 20.00 for admission. We go to Holiday World in Indiana quite often and they charge 39.99 for 2 parks; amusement and a huge water park with approximately 13 water rides plus a lazy river. Again, definetly not worth the price.
By our standards this is a small water park, I am not complaining though. First, the girl took my $8.00 coupon off for me and my husband, then she looked around for another coupon for my 2 girls and got me another $6.00 off for each of them. I was amazed at her professionalism and how she actually took a minute to get us the maximum amount off to enter the park. We then went into the about 30 min. after it opened and was able to find 4 chairs right off the bat. We entered the wave pool and it actually is part of the lazy river where my husband and I based out of for the rest of the day. My 2 girls rode the rides and loved the slides, they have all types of slides (they are teens btw). After a couple of times around we noticed a tent with some seating and people heading over there, so we also got out of the lazy river and headed over to the tent were we were treated to a 20 min. show for FREE!!! It was a shark show with 3 - 6 foot or larger sharks in a specially designed 18-wheeler trailer. VERY COOL!!! We then decided we were hungry. You can have your hand stamped, and go outside the park to eat in the car, or drive over (less than a mile) to the hamburger/pizza joints or you can eat at the park. Since we got such a great deal on admission we decided to see what food they had at the park. Glad we did that, I had a cheese burger basket and it was actually cooked on a grill outside. The 3 remaining family members had chicken strip basket and it was actually real chicken breast lightly breaded. We paid what you would normally pay at the burger joint so I'm glad we didn't leave. We played at the park all day, it was fun, worth the money and a great experience. Also, one last thing, size does matter, and we were so glad that it was not a huge waterpark, we could see everything we wanted to do from the lazy river, we could keep up with our girls much better than those huge parks and actually everyone was so nice, the water was clean, and it was the best money spent for an entire day of fun. We will go back next time we are in Gulfport/Biloxi region.
We went on a Monday and I don't think it was very crowded. We easily found chairs and plenty of the cabanas were still available to rent (although we weren't interested in this). Still, the lines were somewhat slow moving, except on the Riptide Racer, where 6 people can slide at a time. The wait for this slide was next to nothing, and it was a pretty fun ride. We rode it about 5 times. My favorite was the Horn Island Blaster. After that, there really wasn't much. For real, there are 5 actual slides for adults. There's a pretty good area for smaller children. The wave pool is small and the waves do not get very big at all like at other water parks. This is probably because the Lazy River cuts through the wave pool. We ate lunch at the cafe and I thought it was priced about like most water parks. The food did taste good. Three chicken tenders, fries, and drink for 8.99, and you could add 2 tenders for $2. The chicken tenders were huge, so my husband and I split that. I just bought an extra bottle of water ($2.50). The most outrageous price was probably hot dogs for $3.50, and there were no combo meals for that, so my son got 2 hot dogs, fries and a drink, which was about $14.Like I said, there's just not that much here. We rode all the rides, ate lunch, and went to the "live shark encounter" and were still ready to go in about 3 1/2 hours. (Also, the "live shark encounter" that was happening that particular week was pretty lame. Three small sharks swimming around in a small tank behind some glass.) Parking was free. My husband found $5 off coupon online for up to 4 admissions, so the four of us got in for $109 after tax. We had fun, but I would not go back.
