Take the time to stop by this old cemetery for an interesting look at the past. It is well kept and easy to access. If you are interested in history, you will enjoy your visit!!
We drive through this cemetery each time we visit home. We have many family members laid to rest here. My kids have noticed the changes of improvement and beautification done over the years. it's great to see it looking so good.
We drove through the grounds, very well kept. Lots of old graves, worth the drive through. There is a building you can go in to locate where particular graves are at.
It's nice to know that that the cemetery is still intact after Katrina. Lots of history and who's who of people buried in this cemetery.
Liked the old tombstones. The grounds could have been better maintained.. it was a quiet and serene area.
Pretty neat place to visit to see some older grave markers if you're into that kind of thing. We drove through instead of walking so we didn't see everything but you can still see several older graves from the drives.
A lot of old, pretty well maintained cemetery with beautiful trees. Lots of very old headstones amongst the new ones, just gotta look for them.
This is an average, rather large, cemetary. There are some older gravestones and plots and a few great photo opportunities. It is well maintained. But we will never be back because we saw a ghost during the dusk hours!!! We got the hell out of there!!
Well kept grounds which you are able to drive through (and walk) at your leisure. Crews are all over the place.. cleaning and trimming the weeds. Lots of ancient headstones - 1800's. Worth a look-see.
Very old and beautiful cemetery. Wonderful views of the beach, and super cool place to walk around in.
Cool historic place worth at least a drive through. If time allows, get out and wander a bit. It's located right off the road with easy access in and out.
Beautiful, could have spent hours there! I loved the sense of history you got just from being there, and it was such a surprise find for us!
You walk in and get a sense of the history of the Gulf Coast. Some if the original founders and pioneers of the Coast and Biloxi area are buried here - some graves date back to before 1800 ! The cemetery is neat, well kept, very safe, and located across from the beach in Biloxi. Don;t miss it if you like historic places !
My experience at this fabulous site is one both personal and historical. My mother and I were there a few weeks before Katrina to visit the Dulion, Lopez, and Harkness burial sites. I took many pictures and was called upon for their use in the restoration of the cemetery. I know I left a major part of my heart there and watched every minute of reports when Katrina blasted her way through Biloxi. My heart broke many times over. The cemetery is a lesson in History, both personal and public. While I have not been back since that visit, I have been in contact with several relatives and others who have. I have seen pictures since the restoration and was pleased with the results so far. It is a peaceful, almost romantic, experience which I hope to have again. (The date of my visit in the listing is, obviously, not one listed below, but there wasn't an "other" choice.)
Beautiful history. My daughters and walked for hours. Stones from the Spanish American war were fascinating. Dates as far back as 1790. Lovely stones and plots.
