Stoney Creek is an amazingly beautiful park! Two beaches, marina, playgrounds, picnic areas, trails, nature center, so much to see and do! It has something for everyone!

The park is huge. The bike trail alone is 6 miles. There are numerous places to picnic with build in barbecue grills. They have a boat launch, two beaches, fishing, swimming, special events. They even have a place for outside weddings there. They have a nature center and many playgrounds for the kids. You can pay for a daily pass to get in, or a yearly metro park sticker for the year. It's clean and great for the whole family!

I love going to Stony Creek to do my walking on the 6 mile walkway that goes around the whole park. Very scenic. They have bike rentals and paddle boat rentals, etc.

Great place to walk. The trails are well maintained and its also a great park for picnics. The beaches in the summer are well maintained as well.

A great place to visit with swimming, cycling, hiking, fishing, an 18 hole golf course, disc golf, many picnic/playground areas and even paddle boat/kayak rentals are available. There is also a nature center with scheduled guided tours and trails that lead to many beautiful viewing sites along the water. You can also schedule an event catered by Krank's at one of the beaches with a gazebo, tent and ample/convenient parking. In addition, there are occasional concerts as well as occasional weekend camping. A great place to visit! (Please note, this park is located in Shelby TOWNSHIP, MI, on 26 Mile Rd., not the address indicated in the heading.)

Favorite place in Southeastern Michigan to run. The 6 mile paved walk/bike loop is maintained all year even in the winter months. The Mountain bike trails offer serious terrain for bikers/hikers or runners looking to switch things up. The park has many picnic areas and is unbelievably scenic. Despite being part of a populated suburb, you are submerged in nature once in the park with no signs of the surrounding suburb. You will feel like you are in northern Michigan,.

This is a true gem for anyone who lives/visits the metro Detrtoit area, and who loves the outdoors. There is an inland lake, a paved walking/biking/blading, etc path around the lake, a trolley trail through the woods, a very nice golf course, beautiful mountain bike/x-country skiing trails, and much more! This is a nice place to escape the hustle & bustle of the Detroit area.

I live close enough that the family and I bike in much of the summer so the kids can play on the great new playground and just do loops when we want. I also bike around the loop with friends in the early morning or after work for a workout. We do visit this location for different scouting events and the programs have all bee very good.

Picnic with family and friends to watch the fire works , you can swim , hike, bike ride, rent paddle boats, there's a ton of things to do I just can't list them all in this review. You can spend an entire day there and not cover it all plus you rent large areas for a large group to picnic with and play games of all sorts as well ,

We loved the all sports atmosphere of Stony Creek Metropark. We brought our bikes and enjoyed riding the well maintained 6 mile trail around the park. It was refreshing not to have to meet up with cars. There are plenty of people walking, running and cycling along the paths so you do not feel funny being outside. We went to a program on Hawk Migration. Terrific. They have different programs scheduled throughout the year.Bring a picnic. There are plenty of choices of places to hang out and enjoy the outdoors. There is also plenty of room for a huge party such as a family reunion. The park offers ample parking and pavilions.

I had not been to Stoney Creek since I left Michigan in 1969. How beautiful and well kept. We were fortunate to hold our 44th class reunion picnic here at a lakeside pavilion, what a great place. The only downfall and I consider it a big one was that there were no handicapped accessible bathrooms and the pavilion access was not conducive to handicapped either. being that my brother is in a wheelchair it was disappointing to him. There were others there with lesser handicaps that were not happy. All in all it is beautiful but come on being handicapped accessible is the law.

We've visited this metro park a few times now. The playground at the beach is awesome. We also really enjoyed the visitor center and hiking trails there. But, for us, this park can be a bit overcrowded. Try going on a week day vs. a weekend if you want to avoid crowds.
