I recently use Fandango to purchase son movie tickets. On Saturday January 17, I went onto your website to purchase 2 tickets for the wedding ringer at the AMC on John R rd in Madison Heights Michigan. During trying to make my transaction and entering in my credit card information your website session timed out on me. I accessed my bank account to see if a transaction had been posted to my account and their was a pending transaction from your company. I when to the movie theater since I did not receive a confirmation email to see if they had record of the transaction. Upon arriving at the theater I processed to the customer service desk who ran my credit card through the system and found no transaction for the purchase of tickets for the wedding ringer. The young lady at the counter informed me that Fandango had just put a hold on the money and since I did not receive a confirmation from the company for purchase of the tickets, I would not be charged and to check my account in one business day and i would see the hold lifted and my account credited for the 24.98. SO MUCH FOR MY DATE NIGHT, SINCE THE TICKETS WERE SOLD OUT THE REMAINING SHOWS THAT DAY :( On Monday January 19th, I received a notice from my bank that the transaction had post onto my account for the 24.98. I proceed to call the AMC john R and talked to an individual name Sean who informed me that I need to contact Fandango about the transaction. From that point, I called Fandango and waited on hold for an hour between two phones to talk to an representative. Once the representative answered the phone, I explained to her what happened and she told me that she I never received a confirmation so the charge i see on my account was a temporary hold and would be released the next business day. I explained to the representative that the charge was not a hold on my account but a charge with an authorization for the transaction from FANDANGO for 24.98. She emailed the fax number to the corporate office and told me to send them the transaction information and they would review the charge. On Tuesday morning, I called the bank to verify that the transaction from FANDANGO was an actual charge and not a hold as they had stated. The representative from the bank reviewed my account and she stated that they were released the funds for 24.98 on Monday January 19th and that was not a pending transaction after all. From that phone conversation, I proceed to fax over my account statement and information with the reference number to FANDANGO about the transaction. I receive the next day a an email back from FANDANGO corporate office that is was a pending transaction that had placed a hold on account for the funds and that it would be released in 5 business days (this was on Tuesday January 20th). On Monday January 26th, I proceed to call FANDANGO after checking my account and the "pending transaction" (which was stated on my account since January 19th as a DEBIT CARD WITHDRAWAL) had not been released back into my account as stated by corporate and the representative. I spoke to another representative last night who told that he saw all the notes on my account and that yesterday was the fifth business day and to wait until the close of the business day to see the funds release into my account. It is now Tuesday January 27th and I am still dealing with this matter of this 24.98. The funds had not been released and they are still holding onto my money. I am guessing they thought I would forget about the 24.98 and move on with my busy life but I will not. BUYERS BEWARE: I AM SURE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE USE THIS SITE TO BUT MOVIE TICKETS BECAUSE ITS CONVENIENT AND ALLOW YOU EXTRA TIME TO GET TO THE THEATER BUT I URGENT YOU TAKE THE TIME AND GO PICK UP YOUR OWN TICKETS SO YOUR DATE NIGHT, FAMILY TIME OR GIRL'S NIGHT DOES NOT GET RUINED BY A WEBSITE TIMING OUT ON YOU AND CHARGING YOUR ACCOUNT FOR TICKETS YOU NEVER RECEIVED!!!!!!!!! DONT BE A VICTIM AS I WAS TO FANDANGO AND HAVE TO MAKE PHONE CALLS EVERYDAY UNTIL YOU RECEIVED YOUR MONEY BACK FOR A MISTAKE FROM THEIR WEBSITE!!!!!!
I've lived in the US for quite a while now, and have visited many AMC theaters along with non-AMC theaters where I live in Chicago. On a recent trip to Detroit I decided to check out a movie at this AMC with some friends, and I was pleasantly surprised by everything here. First of all, the staff were extremely friendly and chatty. The concession area offered a lot of great snacks and food, along with a full bar for alcoholic beverages. The inside is decorated in a very modern and nice way. Everything was very tidy. The theater we sat in had a huge screen, with perfect picture, excellent sound and the best part: recliner seats!!! The seats were huge, comfortable and reclined all the way to make it feel like you were lying in a bed. My friends and I forgot we were even in a public theater. I definitely recommend checking this place out next time you want to see a movie.
This is our favorite movie theater. They have big comfy recliners to lay back and enjoy your movie in. The only draw back is that their self service kiosks are often broken. In addition, they tend to be short staffed quite often so bathrooms aren't the cleanest and snack bar service is often slow and messy.
They even have a bar at this theatre now. Bathrooms are close by as there are several. They are always clean. The movie prices are not exhorbitant. You can go less expensive before 6 pm. If you go to the first movie of the ay you can get in at the price that is the least expensive!
good crowd to enjoy, ample parking place, good facility, nice leg room space. I enjoyed my movie watching
Went there with my husband to see the movie "America, imagine life without her" The movie was outstanding. I am even going to see it again with a family member (at a different theater). I 've been going to this theater in Madison Heights for years. Never had a problem. I was shocked when the clerk, who sold me the tickets, Fred, pointed at his screen and asked me where do I want to seat. I never had to do it at any theater. I asked Fred what it is about. He had an attitude. He was acting "smart" with me. So I pointed at 2 seats in the isle on his screen, otherwise he wasn't going to sell the tickets. It was only 4 people at this movie. So we ended sitting where we wanted. They got those new seats, very unusual for a movie theater. Seats are very nice & comfortable actually. But I don't like the new layout. We like to sit toward the back in the movies. With this new layout & seats, you have to seat in a last row, and it still feels too close. Maybe that's why they have this new seating system. I wish Fred would explain this to me nicely. We got a large popcorn & a large coke to share, which was $14. I think it is reasonable, since you can get a free refill on a large popcorn, and they now got new coke machines. You can get as many coke refills as you'd like. I like the fact that they now have a stand where you can get your own butter for a popcorn at a self serve station. Staff at the popcorn stand were pleasant & professional. The atmosphere at this theater is not the most upscale, but it's okay. Might give it another try somewhere down the line.
