richland township park

I grew up playing ball at this park, so it's nostalgic for me. I brought my two year old here yesterday, and he had a riot playing on the swings, slides, and merry-go-round. There's a lot of room to run, and many playground toy options. Several pavilions are available for picnics and large outings.

We have visited this park for years, and spent some time here with school groups, as well, when our children attended the local schools. It is very near the central part of the community, and only a couple of blocks from the schools. There are two entrances to the park. On the north end, you will be right near the soccer fields. There is a walkway around the entire section, for walkers, joggers, etc. Benches spaced here and there. There is also a very nice picnic shelter. Access to a great playground. Gravel parking lot. At the south end entrance (you drive thru a residential area to go to it), you will have a partially paved lot, and a partially non-paved/gravel lot. Basketball nets are located on the paved section and they are in poor condition. I hope the local recreation dept fixes that soon. Another large playground, another shelter, bathrooms, scattered tables, and grills. Not sure if there is a tennis court. Baseball fields in the back. Large shade trees and a huge rock to climb on. Nice park to take the kids for a picnic.
