My daughter absolutely loves this place, she's 11. We stayed at Fernwood for Thanksgiving and she did the adventure climb everyday for three hours. Perfect outdoor activity and she thoroughly got her money's worth. Staff was helpful and for the most part you can move through the course quickly. She got stuck on one of the swings and they helped her, she was too light to propel herself across.
We all loved this amazing challenge. we were there for a full day. We all did the different levels, some quite at the harder levels but we all enjoyed park. we all also did the zip line well worth it.nice grounds, staff were greatwell worth it
This is truly an adventure. There are 5 courses 2 easy, 2 not so easy and 1 watch your step. Be prepared to use a lot of upbody strength a couple are deceivingly difficult. The only negative is the observers and there were quite a few, we're on their cell phones. It is very safe, you are always tied to the lines.
great place to go if your looking for a good starting point for zip lining. Staff was very helpful and attentive (saying a lot for how packed they were) and all very polite. My only complaint (which does not effect my score) is that they should have a policy that parents must accompany children under 13 to the attractions as these two nasty little mongrels were quite out of hand.
We paid $98 per couple for two zips and two hours of obstacle courses. What we got was a 30-minute delay on the yellow course (which you are required to do first, no exceptions.) A small child in the front of the line had to be "rescued", with the line at a standstill for about 7 platforms behind him (21 people). We advanced to the green and took the one with less traffic and finished it in 20 minutes flat, then got to choose between blue and black. The black level course was highly strenuous and required bodybuilder upper arm strength, so I had to be "rescued" as well at the 5th platform of 10-12 and we lost our last twenty minutes. I'm giving this a three because my hubby liked it and the zipline was good, but I didn't have fun and we didn't get our money's worth. Recommendation: pick a low-traffic time of day to go, and make sure you are physically fit to balance on your feet and hold up your body weight by your arms for extended periods if you plan on doing the black course.
We had a great time and realized we are not spring chickens. The staff was more than accommodating and guided us scare-d-cats all the way through. Definitely for a family and couple to have a fun time. This was our first Extreme Tree Adventure and we're 50! Lots and lots of fun! If it wasn't for their staff, I don't think we would have enjoyed ourselves as much. The staff consisted of young adults, yet they were very attentive and fun!
We were staying at the resort where this park was located so it was convenient to just walk over for the activity.Since we own timeshare we were able to purchase our tickets for the discounted price of $40. My children (16 and 12) did the course on their own with me walking below them.We have done obstacle courses at other locations so they were familiar with how to do it already. They don't wear helmets like we have experienced in other similar places however they have a very safe locking mechanism that ensures you cannot be untethered at any time. There are 5 different courses that are marked by colour. My kids did the easier course first and were stuck behind new climbers which resulted in them standing around waiting for quite a bit. They then progressed to the second level and there were some technical difficulties in front of them so more waiting around. However when I checked with the staff, they said if they hadn't finished by the end of their two hours, they would let them continue on.The blue course was quite challenging and by the time they had finished that, they were pretty hot and tired so didn't go onto the black. The staff seemed friendly but was mostly teenagers who spent a lot of time socializing with each other. Their instructions were delivered quickly and without much checking in on if everyone was getting it. There was no practice session, only a demonstration given by a staff member. I was glad my children were experienced as I'm not sure I would have had as much confidence given the limited information that was provided before sending them off onto the courses. On a different day we went over and did the 1000' zip line. It is a long walk up to the platform where we found the staff member lying down reading a book. He unenthusiastically hooked us up and sent us off two at a time. It didn't deter us as we enjoyed the quick trip over the trees. Long zips are always exhilarating and this one did not disappoint.
My hub and I went with another couple on 8/30 and the three of them wanted to zipline. There was a little bit of a line to pay but we got through quickly. It's the same line for ziplining and the tree adventure courses. They were harnessed by one of the workers who was nice enough and sent on up the hill which was about a five minute walk. We didn't have any problems because it wasn't very crowded but if you decide to go again on the zipline, you have to stand in the original line again. They should have a seperate line for those who already have all their equipment, etc. and just need to pay for another trip. The bathroom facilities consisted of porta potties (just so you know!) We would recommend this place.
My kids (8 and 10) and I all completed the first 2 courses (excluding the bigger zip line) and had a ton of fun. I love the safety they have built into the course and every staff member we encountered was very helpful. The cost was a bit pricey but my kids loved it so much we did it 2 days in a row. Make sure you use the bathroom before going...they only have porta pottys
My brother and I wanted to take a trip to PA. So I took out my trusty TripAdvisor and started to search. I came across this ad about line zipping. So we get there and surprisingly it was an easy ride, about a little over two hours from nyc. Registering was simple. Although I thought it was a little expensive about 50 bucks per person just a couple of dollars less for the kids under 12. But the staff were great and very professional. Once you get fitted for your harness you get a quick safety course. And off you go. I suggest you start with the yellow course if this is your first time or you have young kids. The course is consist of rope bridges and zip lining across different platforms. It can take two to two and half hours , which then afterwards you get to zip on the long Line across the whole course. All in all it was a great experience to have with friends and family. Definitely worth coming back. Well worth it.
My boyfriend and I had the best time here. The course was amazing. They build up each level with different challenges. We did all 5 including the expert course. Going back we may do them in reverse cause we were tired for the hardest one. Make sure you top it off with the zip racer. It is a great afternoon for couples, friends and families.
Kids, teens and adults loved!! Courses to challenge every age and skill level. The teens and adults completed the blue course and we're shocked at how challenging it was. They couldn't imagine what the black course would be like. Our 7 & 8 year olds loved it too. Everyone loved the crazy long zip line. My husband said it was one of the coolest things he's ever done in his life.
The ropes courses and zip lines were a lot of fun. The 2 hour course limit was just about enough as long as there weren't slow or terrified climbers camping out on the platforms between obstacles. Price is average for this type of activity. The staff was friendly and responsive.
My husband had one of the best times of our vacation at TreeVentures. He would have loved to gone back for a second visit if we had time.
We took our three kids (14, 12 and 7) here for something to do while on vacation. After a quick training session they were off on the beginner course. It was a great warm up to get used to the equipment. They have a great harness with a unique safety feature that forces you to be always "hooked on". I was a little nervous with my seven year old, but he loved it! in order for him to continue, I had to go with him. I had as much fun as they did and was glad I did it. We will defiantly go back. Yes it was a little pricey, but I felt it was well worth it. They said we had two hours to do as much as we could but we were there at least two and a half and we're never pressured to finish. When we went, it wasn't too crowded. I could see maybe getting frustrated waiting for slower climbers if it is crowded. After reading other reviews, I see that some people did run into that problem.
