Went snowshoeing on the Longfellow, Rhodedendron, Liggett, Browns Run and Toms Run trails through the Forest Cathedral. the trails were generally flat or rolling, very scenic. The covered porch w. Adirondack chairs at the log cabin nature center (closed at the time) was a great spot for our winter picnic. Heated large restrooms with flush toilets& sinks were open.

Went to the part for the first time this summer. Bathhouses we OK, but very livable. Some of the campsites now have full hookup, so if you have an RV, they might be right for you. The sites are large and shady. The extensive hiking trails are well maintained and easily accessible from the campground. Whether you are a hiker or not, make sure you explore the Cathedral of the Forest, it is not to be missed. Plenty of beginner trails are available there for the only casual hiker. We also enjoyed the Clarion River on another day and it is gentile and a fun way to spend the day in the sun. Definitely put this park on your bucket list!!!

Wonderful place! I have been coming to this state park since I was a young child. I have started to bring my kids up here for vacation. We enjoy all the activities which are offered.

This is one of our favorite parks and we visit regularly. We have camped alone and with friends and family and have always had a wonderful time. There is a lot to do and many options for housing, too... from camping to B&Bs

Trails and paths for walkers, hikers and cross country skiing. It is beautiful, serene and has great look out points.

Although it was raining most of the time that we were hiking, we enjoyed the trails that we found and were happy to be in a place where old growth had been preserved.

Get away from it all! Quiet. Beautiful. Poor cell service so you can really escape. Canoe, hike, just walk around. Go. Your nervous system will thank you.

Fell in love with Cook Forest when my parents purchased a small cabin about 30 minutes away. Then I went to college at nearby Clarion University and got to enjoy it with friends. We live in Maryland now so we don't get the opportunity to get back much be have stayed at some of the B&B's a couple of times. Romantic and great outdoors stuff to do such as canoeing, swimming, hiking, a couple of stables for horseback riding, camping in cabins, tents or campers. The Clarion River runs right through the forest. LOVE Cook Forest in the fall especially. Hope to head back for the first time in years this fall.

We stayed in Cook forest for 2 days and had great time canoeing down the Clarion river with our 7 and 10 year old. W spent 4 hours just cruising down a smooth river perfect for kids, especially if it's their first time being on a river! The hike in the old forest was also incredibly beautiful and yet pretty easy with well mark pathways.

First time bringing our young children (ages 4 and 7) to Cook Forest. We stayed a weekend at a nearby area, tent camping. They walked to and climbed the fire tower as far as they dared, checked out the Scenic Overlook and had fun climbing on some of the "big rocks" that were everywhere, and went fishing for the first time. (I didn't realize they had a place for the kids and disabled to fish for free where they restock the trout every Thursday... and the park ranger's station has fishing poles for use at no cost.-- a nice surprise. You just buy bait at one of the local merchants.) We intend to take them here to go canoeing with us soon.

Very pretty forest with large old-growth trees and plenty of great views. Good place to stop for a few hours or a few days. I rented a canoe and spent a few hours on the river - very relaxing. It looked like there was plenty of lodging and activities for families available.

Great place to get away. Best time Dec, Jan or Feb. take your 'real' 4X4 leave all at home including the 'kids'. Many things to do for families during summer would not advise it for couples during that time if they want to 'get away'.

Such an awesome place! The old growth forest is so unique and worth hiking through. Nearly 30 miles of hiking trails in the park and all sorts of other activities to do as well. Had a great time visiting recently and I would recommend it to anyone.

We used to come here to camp, but now we live here, run a business and still are in love with our surroundings. It is a peaceful and quiet area to come and relax and have a great time. Remember though that you are in the country and do not have cell service for the most part. Some areas will have Verizon, like our business Hominy Ridge Lodge and Cabins. Come and enjoy the park and all it has to offer
