We arrived about ten in the morning, staff were friendly and helpful. We paid five dollars each, and had a guided tour, starting with the cabins, black smith, sleeping quarters, supplies. . . . Beside our guide, the exhibitions were clear, and well laid out. The guide, explained anything we weren't sure of. The main museum building was having an upgrade in some parts, but really didn't interfere with our tour, left to our own devises, we made our way around, reading, taking pictures. . Exhibits were clearly marked, plenty of reading to be done. There was also a kids "hands on", exhibit, and dressing up, area, to keep the kids occupied. We finished off with a short film in the theatre, run time about 20 minutes. Grabbed an ice cream on the way out . . . A good morning, almost three and a half hours in total. The grounds are next to the lake, so you can have a beautiful walk after. . . . .

I grew up with stories about Paul and his Blue Ox. I laughed when I saw the 2 at the very front of the museum entrance and had to take a picture with them. It was fun to walk around the grounds and see different features of what a logging camp would look like. I also liked the multiple displays of Paul and Babe.

Not really my thing.So it was honestly a bit boring. I gave it a higher rate of average because it is in a beautiful surroundings of woods and park setting. That was the only thing that saved the day here.

We stopped by just to snap a picture of Paul and Babe. The park was open for visitors, even though the Camp was closed early in the morning. Worth the pictures!

We visited at 10 am this Sunday, 9/14 before we returned home. Great visit for a history buff. We enjoyed the exhibits décor and narratives. Will come again.

This place has lots of potential, but without living history people in costume it is kinda dull. Perhaps a dynamic manager with living history experience could liven the place up. Example: the 'blacksmith's shop' has a fake fire in the forge and the tools are stapled to the walls. BORING!!!! How about getting someone to actually do some blacksmithing and explaining the job by demonstrating!!!

I had not visited the museum in at least 20 years! I love what they have done! The self guided tours are great; although I think it would be even more fun for kids if they had a scavenger hunt to id items would be a bonus if they implemented something like that. Although I love the hands on kids room. The mini replica logging mill, the skating in bacon in the fryingpan, bean bag/rope toss games and more were neat. I believe my kids and I would go back!

This was a great place to kill a couple of hours. I would recommend it to anyone. Great for kids and adults. Lots of history being preserved there. Keep up the good work!

This is by the Chippewa Valley Museum area by downtown Eau Claire. I would wait until all outdoor exhibits are open before taking a visit. There is a historic old logging camp set up. I visited this place back in the 1970s, and the place is about this same. I would plan a visits here along with the museum next door since you are in the area. This place is OK alone but would do the museum combo.

Paul Bunyan Logging Camp will take you back t the 1890's Logging Operations living conditionsof a Real Logging Camp. Many authentic logging camp buildings that you can walk thru and see the artifacts contained in these Buildings Visit The Interpretive Center and the Dale Syth Theater and see a Great film on Logging made back in the day.I was so impressed, That I became a Member for $30. I And my Family can go as many times a season as we want, the five us go and often picnic on the grounds and still see artifacts that we had not seen before.But if you go on a day trip,the Paul Bunyan Camp And The Chippewa Valley Museum, Which are right next to each other have a great combo price $9 for both Museums,Less for Kids. The kids will enjoy the real life replicas of early logging days. The chain saw carving national champions in August each year provide some amazing carvings to enjoy.

After reading the blurb on the Wisconsin Tourism website, we decided to visit. There are several interesting exhibits and displays. Felt that maybe it was geared more for children than adults. Had several Interruptive recordings in the buildings which explained a few things, but it would have been much more intersting and enjoyable if there were charactors to ask questions and interact with. Combine our visit with the Chippewa County Museum next door. Felt that if both facilities were the price it cost to get into just one it would have been more reasonable.

This summer, our family has been doing 1 fun thing a week. This was something we've always wanted to do. We were ushered in to watch a short video about the logging days. Then we were shown around the inside of the building. they had a nice play area for the kids and a few displays to see. Outside the buildings are set up with recordings that tell you about the buildings and what they were used for. My kids enjoyed this place and we'd go back with other kids. The staff was very helpful. Make sure to get a picture with Paul and Babe out front!

We used to go to the logging camp for school every year. I always enjoyed it. Even now as an adult I think it's fun, especially if you have a child with you. Make sure you get your picture taken with Paul Bunyan and Babe. There is a statue out front that is a great photo opp.

Excellent place for children to explore the history of the almight Paul Bunyan..very basic but fun and entertaining!
