Lost River Market & Deli is a little jewel in Orange County, Indiana. It's a community-owned grocery/deli. It's always clean and bright and friendly. (The staff is very helpful and can also give you tips on what to do while in the area.) There's outdoor seating under a pergola when the weather is fine. Indoors, there are two areas where one can sit, eat, chat with the friendly staff and local visitors. There's free WIFI too. When you walk in, you'll first see one sitting area next to a very large picture window that spans the front of the building. Then you'll notice the cute little grocery store that includes organic, local foods and foods for special diets. As you walk towards the back, you'll see a bulk food section and then the deli. The deli has a fabulous salad/soup bar where you can get great homemade selections, including desserts (cookies, pie, cake, quick breads, puddings, etc…) Of course, there's hot coffee and teas. There are plenty of vegetarian choices too. As you round the bend, you'll see that the store has craft beers and nice wines to choose from to take with you. Across from the wine section is another seating area that features local art. There is a large bathroom (handicap accessible) with a place to change a baby's diaper, if necessary. On Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m., Lost River Market & Deli hosts a music jam. Everyone is welcome to either bring in their instrument and play and/or sing along or you can just sit and enjoy the rousing music. The food from the deli is outstanding! They have a great salad bar, soups, and premade sandwiches and wraps. All is made with healthy fresh ingredients.

they have lots of organic food items and serve a nice lunch...great soups and sandwiches....a little pricey but very good.
