My family has always enjoyed going to Cherokee, especially my daughter. She enjoys the dancersand walking around with mom to go shopping.

Cherokee is a wonderful place to go to learn about the Cherokee Nation and the Trail of Tears. The outdoor play "Unto These Hills" tells the story for young and old and then follow up by going to the Cherokee Museum. Grab all the history you can while visiting Cherokee and then enjoy floating down the river for fun later.

Well we hadn't been to Cherokee in 20 years and were pleasantly surprised it has expanded I assume from the money the Casino. Of course its a lot like any of these places lots of souvenir shops, food etc but kids will like it and the shows are ok if pricey. It feels to us a lot like Pigeon forge did 20 yrs ago before it grew so much.

Great place to visit. Lots to see and do. Lots of history here. Check out the casino while you are there.

I took my son to the Cherokee Reservation and it was a great day! There was much to learn and we both enjoyed it and were touched by the spirituality there. We certainly are looking forward to returning.

It is fun just walking around checking out the shops.. love watching the Indians dance and put on shows.. love the scenery around the place.. The Indians are very good about talking to everyone.. I noticed they are great with the kiddos.. I don't have children but ! I love watching the little ones eyes light up when Indians are dancing and putting on shows and they always pay attention to the kiddos.. This is a blast from my past as a kid.. I still have all my little Indian dolls from child hood from here.. and all my pics as a child w the Indians w my family and I.. You can find neat things in the shops you can't get any where else ;.so I.like looking for little or big treasures in the shops

My fiance had never seen a ture Indian and he asked one can I get my picture took with you and the Indian said yes , well after we took the pix the Indian said 5dollars for pix , my fiance was so heated because we had no cash and he was in the wrong to wait till after the pix to ask for money, I had to go get cash he would not let us leave ! It was just a bad vibe on them! We want do that again....

I live nearby, so it's just a place to go stroll around and look at the shops. Food in restaurants is average price, but fudge is pretty expensive (about $9 a pound). Some of the shops have Cherokee made crafts which are usually pretty expensive, and a lot of them have junk souveniers from China. Visitors expecting a real Cherokee Indian experience will be disappointed.... Like I said, it's another tourist trap. It's a wannabe mini Gatlinberg or Pigeon Forge.

We always stay someplace on the Rez and usually visit all the shops without going to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. Less visitors here and this side of the mountains is what it is all about.

This was our second trip to the Cherokee Casino and this time we had a beautiful room on the 16th floor underlooking the mountains! The room was perfect. Very good drapery for late morning sleep. Back to the casino, it seems they have more machines in the Casino than any other casino we have visited, and we have visited several dozen. Only big problem is the smoke. They have no smoking zones, but seem to be hard to find. Also, had dinner at Ruth's Chris and as usual, great food and service.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was exceptional. Very close walk to the casino. The hotel had a nice breakfast display every morning, free..loved the shops and museum with the chance to do hands on crafts when in season. A Must visit to Grannys diner for buffer lunch or dinner.

This review is for the museum which was fantastic. A great small museum filled with pictures and facts and just enough interactive features to keep the kids engaged. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area or passing through.

We visited some of the shops in Cherokee and a museum that also had hand made items, such as baskets, carved wooden objects & jewelry, all made by the Cherokees. Cherokee is in the foothills of The Great Smoky Mountains, on the North Carolina side, and a very beautiful area.

Wow I love cherokee. I guess one of the main reason is because I am a cherokee Indian. I love to go back and visit and while I was there I won some money

Cleverly disguised as an Indian Village. Standard tourist trap stuff. Not very impressed. Drove down the road and saw the run down trailers where the natives probably really live and that makes me sad. :(
