My sister and I took our 8 & 9 year old rafting. It was a great time. The staff was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We all had fun it was a great trip! Would recommend this place for family fun!

We white water rafted for the first time and are glad to have chosen Carolina Outfitters for this adventure. Transfer from and back to their location was well organized and their online deals are the best prices we found. Plus:They rent wet suits and shoes for a low fee which helped dealing with the low temperature and rain that day. We instantly connected with our guide JOE who truly went out of his way making us feel safe during this two hour journey down the Nantahala River and provided us with lots of additional information about the flora and fauna, added a few fun twists like "surfing" to the tour and shared some personal stories; very approachable, knowledgable and great guy! THANK YOU

took a half day trip today with my two sons (17 and 19). I wasn't sure if they would like it, but it was a GREAT trip. It had all of the excitement of an amusement park packed into a half day. Our river guide was Barry, and he was excellent. He educated us and also allowed us to do some things that were "special" considering we were newbies to rafting. Highly recommend this trip. Worth the time and money.Can't wait to go back and do the full day trip on both the upper and middle Ocoee.

My family and I were on a short vacation and me and my daughter 16 and son 15 wanted to try white water rafting. We made reservations when we got there all 3 of us were very nervous. After talking to the manager "Bill" we met our guide JOE he was the best. He went over all the safety stuff and then off we went. The river was high due to the dam being released so the water was high and moving fast. This was the most awesome experience. Joe quickly gain mine and my children's confidence. I would high recommend Carolina Outfitters they are awesome people to work with, they are very courteous and just a great bunch!!!! Make sure you check them out on your next trip because I sure WILL be going back!!!!

Wow!!! This was our first time to try white water rafting. We could not have chosen a better company to use. Our guide was Joe and he was outstanding. We highly recommend him if you want a wonderful and safe experience. He was very knowledgeable and also very friendly. Bill was also great!!! We are senior citizens on Medicare and we plan on coming back next year. You can not go wrong using Carolina Outtfitters.

Thanks to Joe and Carolina Outfitters for a great family raft trip! Joe gave a highly skilled ride, we always felt very safe, and he taught us all his techniques as well as some survival training along the way. Had ages 11 to 68 on the raft and all had a great time. Had a great day out on the Nantahala with Neal as out guide.Very knowledgable guide, had interesting bits of information about the river and was excellent at pulling one of us out of the river. Would definatly go again and recommend it to anyone looking for an exciting day out.

Of the staff I talked to, all were nice but I talked most with our guide, Neil, and Russ Smith. Both were great and interesting characters. Neil gave a history lesson while on the river and also provided splash jackets to any who needed without us asking. Russ was very approachable. Others were too but I did good to remember those two names. River was awesome and rafts/gear provided was great. I hope Russ' signature is worth a lot some day.

This was my first time doing this and I LOVED it.The Funyak was great even though we went catapulting into the freezing river. Hahaha I can't remember when I've had so much fun. This is a must do!! Leave everything in your car because it will be wet or overboard!!

It was the families first ever white water rafting trip. I would like to give a great big Thank you to Joe Sanders our rafting Guide he was awesome!!! The whole adventure with Carolina Outfitters was great and will be making future trip threw them. Thanks again Joe and CO. You all did a great job.

I am somewhat of a "Nervous-Nelly" and was a little anxious about taking the trip. I found all of the staff very informative during the safety introduction and felt like they knew how to have a good time, while also respecting the rules of the river and safety of the guests. Rob was our guide and, from the beginning, asked about our preferences - did we want more adventure or a easy trip down the river. Once our group was feeling comfortable, Rob showed us some fun tricks and added to the excitement - without ever feeling like we were in danger or "scared for my life". We bounced off the rocks, spun around and got wet, but definitely all within the context of what we were comfortable with and asked for. I thought Rob was an excellent guide and would definitely recommend to both seasoned rafters and newbies like me! Ask for Rob if you want a fun and exciting rafting trip - or even just a nice day on a beautiful setting on the Nantahala.

Wednesday, 8/20/14, four of us -- all well over 60 -- had a great experience rafting the Nantahala with Joe as our guide. Not only did we feel that he provided us with great safety information, but he also was so very knowledgeable about the trees, flowers, and the critters that are on the river. The next day, we rafted the Ocoee with another outfitter; it is not for the faint of heart. At my age, my need for adventure has been reduced a notch or two. I will not raft the Ocoee again, but the Nantahala provided just enough of the thrill that I was looking for. Thanks again for a great experience!

We had a great rafting trip at this location. Great for families. We had Neil as our Guide and he was fantastic. We had two little girls with us ,7 and 9 years old, and we felt very safe with him. We also went back for a second trip a few days later because we loved the first trip so much. We would recommend this to anyone!

Just went down the Ocoee river last week with Duck as our guide . Could not believe the knowledge this guy had of the river and rafting. We we're three women , and two of us had not been on a raft in over 15 years. He came highly recommened by friends , I know why !!! Great adventure but felt safe with this Guide .
