This facility is dedicated to rescue/breeding of animals such as lions, tigers, wolves, bobcats - a variety of creatures that needed homes. You really do get an up close view of the well-cared for animals and the staff reflects their love and commitment to the animals under their care. It is heartbreaking to hear some of the background stories as to how these animals came to be at the facility... many of them former pets despite their wild nature and/or in places where they were not taken care of. Tours must be scheduled in advance [adult-$14] and there is a small gift shop with t-shirts and souvenirs. Strollers are not allowed or eating/drinking as you walk the 3/4 mile gravel, flat path. If you love animals, this is a must see stop for all ages.

Hi Liz, We are pleased to hear you had such a pleasurable experience on your tour! Our community of helpers at the conservancy are dedicated not only to the welfare and enrichment of our resident animals, but also to our visitors. We truly love sharing our experiences, animal stories and fun facts about species with anyone who cares to hear them!

We had a large group that they split up, which was a great idea. The animals all looked healthy and cared for. They were happy to get their treats. The time seemed to go by too fast on our tour and I wish we could've spent more time with the lions and tigers. Our guide did a good job.The staff didn't seem overly friendly when we checked in. It was a nice day and we had a good time.

My family (9 people including two kids) made the trip from SC to visit the lions and tigers. We have been to zoos before but have never been able to get this close to the animals. The kids loved calling each big cat by their name and even getting a reaction once in a while. The staff is friendly and knowledgable without being overbearing. The day we went was COLD. About 30 degrees. They had free hot chocolate and had a food truck in lot with hot food. Family enjoyed the day. Will make it back next year.

Thank you for sharing your experience! Our volunteers are a wonderful and devoted group of individuals that help our organization tremendously. As a smaller non-profit, we rely heavily on volunteers for help! Interestingly enough, many of them began their journey with us as tour-goers and have since become versed in animal care, guest relations, special events, and most are members of our Lifetime Adoption Program! And we are excited to hear that you enjoyed our smaller critters as well! They may not be the initial draw of attention (our big cats and our wolves are extremely popular), but they are equally as unique to see and hear up-close! We hope you return for our annual Tree Toss event in January! Buy your tickets before they run out!

My adult son and I went to Conervator's Center and had a wonderful experience. It was well worth the time, travel and money. I would highly recommend and would go again.

What a treat! Not many of our visitors get the chance to see our leopards enjoying their dietary enrichment (donated deer meat from local hunters). Not only is it a great source of nutrition for the animals, but it offers a little variety from their regular chicken, beef, and pork meals! Their taste buds certainly love the surprise twist every fall. Though the chain-link is a necessity in cage construction for these powerful animals, it is a downer when it comes to taking photos. Luckily, as you have mentioned, we offer exclusive (and private) photography tours for small groups! This experience is special because it allows you to take photos through the fencing in designated areas while being spotted by our trained staff. The images you will capture are truly stunning! We really enjoyed our guided tour of the Conservator's Center. What a fun activity! They take teally great care of the animals at their facility, which is really important to us. They are well care for and seem happy. The guide we had was very knowledgeable about the animals and genuinely enjoyed them. I would recommend this tour for adults or adults with kids. Fun for the whole family!

Thank you for taking a moment to highlight your experiences, despite the less-than-ideal weather conditions! It's true that many of our animal residents enjoy some conditions we would consider unpleasant, in fact, tigers love water! Arthur never misses a chance to romp in the mud and splash in puddles! We hope you will join us again this winter for one of our Winter in the Wild tours. Our wolves can get rambunctious in the snow!

Wow this was out of the world experience up close with wild animals and when I said up close, it meant barely a few feet away! Amazing to watch and hear the roar of the lions. Must visit!

Hi Tricia, thank you for taking the time to write a review! We are excited to hear you had a great time on your tour, despite the warmer weather! If you are interested in coming out for an afternoon/twilight tour, please consider our festive Howl-O-Ween tours! They are fun for both adults and kids and our staff dresses for the occasion! Generally, our evening tours in the fall tend to be a little cooler--and our animals get much more active (and vocal) as the temperatures drop. We hope to see you again soon!

Wow wow.....I knew I was in for a treat as soon as I heard the lions roar in the distance. You get taken on a guided tour with a group of people-the tour guide (I forgot his name) was so knowledgeable and wonderful. All sorts of wild animals. Much better than a zoo. The animals are behind a fence right in your face-it is safe! A Serval cat was ripping into its rat dinner in my face and a kitten lynx was playing with it favorite toy. And the lions roaring was breathtaking. One of the males upset the females and the growling made me jump out of my skin but it was breathtaking. I thought I was in Africa. I will be going back again soon for the twilight tour. Worth every penny and more! Arthur the White Tiger was one of the final stops. I miss all the animals already. Cookie and Jeremiah the lemurs put on a good "show" and the red fox was so cute........And they have some older tigers and animals in there and nice they have a good mix of creatures they saved from bad situations......

Thank you for your review! Our tours are designed with our participants being top of mind! We want everyone to have an awesome experience, no matter what age! Sometimes, that can be tough, but our dedicated staff have made it their priority to gain experience with education, animal care, and visitor relations. They will be excited to hear of your kind and positive words. Please consider joining us again this winter for our seasonal Winter in the Wild tour! Don't forget to dress for the weather!

Thank you for your review! Our private tours are a great way to have a one-on-one experience with our knowledgeable guides and hear some of the lesser-known (but equally as awesome) stories of our animal residents. We hope you will join us again for some of our fun, fall festivities like Pumpkin Prowl!
