Must stop for a tasting on your way to Clemson! We do every time but you must be aware of the "tasting hours" 10-4 I believe. And a mason jar to go is a great gift
I liked the quirkiness of this place. I did not walk through the petting zoo, but I did buy some moonshine. It was not as good as I was hoping for, but it was just OK.
A Mason jar of clear SC (legal) moonshine with curious goats as onlookers...who could ask for more? The 'shine is divine as these potables go, and a little sippin' and grinnin' will naturally follow. Easy access, cordial clerks, and a mountain man waving at you as you pass on the highway. A lot different than your average package store, for sure!
Not only a cool place, but EXCELLENT service!! And the moonshine is amazing, every single flavor!! Try the BBQ sauce too!
All staff members where very helpful and took the time to explain their product. Apple Pie Moonshine is very good...
Super fun little stop! Sign Spinner, Jerry, grabbed our attention and who can't resist Legal Moonshine? Lane and the crew inside were helpful and knowledgeable and even though we aren't really drinkers, after taste testing we ended up buying 2 jars to take home! (We flew here so here's hoping they don't break in my checked bag!) Outside we fed the goats, donkey and pot belly pig. The goats were super gentle and friendly but I'd stay away from the donkey and the pig. From there we headed over the other location to see how it's made and took the "tour" - if you can call it that. More like look through the glass while someone explains it but it was still good, friendly and informative. For this Yankee,I'm thinking you can't get much more southern than Moonshine! I'd highly recommend both locations as a must-see when you are in Anderson.
Such an incredibly fun little adventure to stop in and do a moonshine tasting and feed the goats on the roof. We had a great time watching the goats pull on ropes hooked to buckets for them to bring the food from the ground level to the roof top to eat. There is a machine at ground level to purchase a handful of food for 25 cents. They have many flavors to try out and it is just such a different experience from a wine tasting. You just have to take a mason jar of moonshine in your favorite flavor home. Very unique!
We enjoyed feeding the goats, but be careful of the donkey (I saw him bite a little girl while we were there). The guy working inside was great. We chatted with him for a while and he showed us a few magic tricks he'd been working on. Of course we had to have a sample of the shine and wound up bringing some home with us. Not a major attraction mind you, but with a stop if you're passing by with a few minutes to spare.
they have a lot of unique gifts in store... and feeding the silly goats is always a blast... don't forget to give Donkey some love too though...
