A small winery but very nice, friendly people. Nice atmosphere, good music, excellent waitress, amazing wine!
was a quiet day because of the rain Michele shared stories about the area and the wines very pleasant young lady there wasn't a wine that we didn't like. Bought several bottles but were limited because we had to get back to OHIO by plane.
The wedding dinner was outside on the patio. They paired their wines with each course of the dinner. the caterer they have was amazing, wines were excellent.
Chapin Family Vineyards was the 2nd to last stop on our day of wine tasting in Temecula. The grounds were just amazing, they even had grapes on the vines which was a nice photo opportunity. They had some nice wines and friendly service. As well as cans of soda for just $1. They seemed like they were either setting up or breaking down for a wedding, it would be a very nice venue for any event. They also had some nice cheese and cracker options for purchase.
Opted to skip a tasting and just order a glass to enjoy. The patio looks out over miles of vineyard and rolling hills and has misters to cool you on a hot summer day as you enjoy. They were very dog friendly, bringing my pooch water and ice cubes as he lounged table-side. Totally enjoyed our relaxing little stop at Chapin!
We enjoyed the long list of delicious reds that this winery offered. They sold snacks and we were very appreciative of this after a long day. Staff was hilarious. Facility was gorgeous. Wish we had time to enjoy a glass on their beautiful porch. This winery is a few minutes away from the big commercialized tasting rooms, but it is well worth the extra few minutes.
Visited Chapin on recommendation from another winery and it did not disappoint. Loved all the wines, especially the port. Staff was friendly and informative about the wines and the Temecula Valley. Nice views from the patio tasting area. Highly recommend.
We stopped at this winery on the way back from one of our weekend adventures the weekend before XMAS and we were actually looking for a good port (since the one that we usually buy from a very small winery is gone); we decided to go all the way to end of California Road and wewere glad we did because from the warm greeting at the parking lot to the friendly staff it was agreat wine tasting and learning experience as well. We joined their wine club and got great discounts on the bottles that we took home and yes we found a great port and a great "blush"wine that I love because I usually prefer white wines to reds and the blush one it's the perfect balance. I can't wait for our next pickup to experience their great unpretentious customer service that made us feel welcomed and interested on their wines instead some other places that try to make you feel uncomfortable if you don't know much about wines; long story short visit them you'll have a great time and will take home some of their great wines.
One of the best wine tasting experiences in Temecula thanks to the friendliest staff and owner "Steve" that made the experience a memorable visit. The wines are some of the best as well.
We visited the Chapin Family Vineyard in Temecula on a Saturday in June. The small vineyard, approximately 9 miles from the I-15 freeway, is a gem in the wine-growing area. The owner/manager, Steve Chapin, is a jovial and hospitable host with a wealth of wine knowledge. His entire staff is friendly, courteous and efficient and also deep in the wine industry lore and knowledge of their products. The newly remodeled facility is beautiful, well laid out and a joy to visit and do your wine tasting and purchasing. There's no fee other than for the wine-tasting.
TRAVEL BACK (to the road less traveled) STOP BY, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! We accidentally stumbled onto Chapin as we were heading to Doffo, we were glad we did, it was a GREAT experience! We have been visiting Temecula wineries before S.Coast was S. Coast...we have experienced every level of customer service one can imagine. From what we thought was the best to the lowest of the low, we NOW know that for Stellar service one needs to go to Chapin. Jana was outstanding! She was very accommodating as she carried our wines, cheese, crackers & salami to the outdoor patio. She knew we much rather sit outdoors staring at their beautiful vineyard, they have a GREAT VIEW from the patio. It was truly refreshing to finally find a server that went beyond the typical "this wine contains some much percentage of this & that" that is the extent of a lot of the wine servers knowledge of their wineries. I find it sad. Not at Chapin, these ladies really have a grasp on what pairs well & what methods they follow. Our party really enjoyed all the information. It was fun! Pro's-The stand out's: The Syrah & the Cab. They have a great port as well. Phenomenal customer service/no other winery can compare.Love their outdoor patio, you can feel free to ask for your wine tastings to take place in the patio. Great views. They sell all kinds of crackers, cheese, cold cuts ect. Their wine servers really KNOW about their wines, they don't pretend & wing it (like many) they are fully informed. That in itself is a BONUS! We enjoyed it! Verdict:Thus far the BEST service in ALL of Temecula!
We drove to the end of Rancho California Road - not sure what we would find. We found Chapin Family and it was a great way to start our day of wine touring. The gentleman in the tasting room was very knowledgable and gave us tons of information about the valley, the wines, the growing region and Chapin Family Vineyard. We did the full tasting and brought home a bottle of the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon.
This lovely winery and tasting room is situated on a small hilltop with an indoor tasting room and scenic patio overlooking vineyards. Very, very nice. A good variety of wines, the new Syrah being an absolute favorite BY FAR..."Jana" the wine server was stellar in service and information and congeniality - one superb gal! I ALSO enjoyed the fact they had cheese and crackers and salami for sale to go with the wine tasting...REALLY MATTERED. I have no doubt? This is one of the top 3 wineries in Temecula, "hands down" as they say. Understandably so.
I had quite a disappointing 2nd trip to Chapin. On the positive side, the new tasting room is quite nice. Several things were not so positive, though. 1) The older gentleman pouring the wine was so overly pre-occupied that it disrupted our experience. He kept answering phone calls, walking away (at one point he said he needed to do some paperwork). It was very awkward. Two other people filled in and gave excuses (in a friendly manner) for why the other guy kept leaving. 2) The quality of the wine is just not that high. Out of 6 tastes, the group overwhelmingly seemed to only like one or 2 consensually. Even worse, the prices are super high. It just didn't seem to dovetail with the quality of the wine. I'd put Chapin on the backburner as a place to visit while in Temecula. There are several places that are better and will seem to appreciate your business.
Chapin Family Vineyards is relatively new in Temecula. The tasting room is gorgeous! Personable Leroy was an excellent host as he guided us through our tasting with great information about the winery, wines, and life! They produce mainly reds with good structure. They are growing more Italian varietals than I've seen in the valley. Definitely worth a stop!
