My husband and I always love to golf here, the course is challenging but fun.Always enjoy having lunch there after the 9th hole.
really nice view I like the food as well. I enjoyed it very much. riverside is such a good area. Neighbourhood is so good.
Nice place to golf, not a country club, a little rough in places but on the river with some nice holes.
A great muni, challenging course, friendly pro-staff, good quality practice range balls, OK coffee shop. Course maintenance has gone up and the course was recently upgraded to a 125 slope by NCGA. Price is right for 18.
A little slow, it is a muni after all. The greens are in good shape. And there's a little elevation on the back nine.
My husband used to always play here as a kid and took me after we got married. It's a great course and we had a lot of fun. My husband always plays the course when we visit Fresno.
The course has a great layout and is very forgiving so it was a fun course to golf ! The condition of the course is tough to speak to as we are not locals and not used to bermuda and deer grass so I'm not sure when it greens up and the other courses we played while in Fresno still had brown fariways. I made telephonic reservations while looking at the website which listed a rate of $55 per player which included a cart with GPS. The staff had to go out and find a cart which when delivered didn't have GPS and looked like it hadn't been cleaned or had any attention for months. A local foursome behind us indicated the course routinely runs out of carts in the afternoon so if you don;t have access to your pull cart you better golf early. Thankfully we had an 11:30ish tee time and ended up with a cart. The cafe workers, the starter and pro shop staff were all very friendly. The cafe has a good variety of breakfast entrees, sandwiches, and grilled items and our meal was good.
This course has a great layout and I have been playing here for over 40 years. The conditions over those years have varied from horrible to pretty good. The course gets a lot of play and Fresno can have some tough weather for golf courses...but the current management is doing a pretty good job and conditions are close to as good as they have ever been.
For the price this course is good. Been a while since I ve been here, but enjoy it every time I go. If you havent been, give it a try
The first time I played Riverside about 4 years ago I thought it was a cow pasture and swore never to return. Some friends convinced me to try it again after they did some renovations to the course. I have played it 6-8 times since the renovations a few years ago. The course was definitely better, but not great. It is a typical city course, in that it is maintained OK, but also gets a lot of play. It is not picturesque, but reasonably priced. Not too much water on the course.
My very first time golfing. I went with my Uncle & we had a good time. I still have a lot to learn. Lol
I attended a charity tournament and will return to play the course again. Nice improvements over where it was three years ago. Updated course and amenities.
I have played Riverside many times and everytime the course offered a different challenge. Better to book a Tee time in advance as the course can be really busy. They allow 5some, which in my opinion really slows the game. Many players do not use the play as you go rule , but rather wait for each other turn, and I did not see the marshall telling them to sped up. They should have a refreshment cart on the course, especially in the summer when its 100F+! Bunkers are hard!
Riverside has been in poor shaope for a number of years, that is, until now. Last year the course was half closed for most of the summer, I just played it after the renovation and revamp and must say I am very impressed. They have a lake in between holes 4/5/17, this is apparently the reservior for teh all new irrigation system. The course is now GREEN! there is grass where I have never seen it before. The fairways and rough are lush and green, this has always had a gereat layout but poor condition, now both are tip top. If you haven't played here in a few years, I would certainly reconsider it.
We just played Riverside based on the articles and links we found at this site. I wish I could say they were justified. The course is challenging and the back nine has the potential to be beautiful. BUT the course was in absolutely awful shape! The only green areas on the whole course were the greens and the rough! The fairways were totally brown and dried out. Awful. Of course the bonus is that you got a lot of roll out of your ball- if you played it that way. The course was fairly busy with a lot of walkers. That was fine with us as we also walk and the pace was good. However there were a lot of golfers that had little or no golf etiquette playing the course. We never saw a marshall. When making the tee times we thought that the fees were reasonable but after seeing the condition of the course they ought to be ashamed of themselves charging the same for winter play as for spring or summer. A local we played with told us that they don't water the fairways at all in the winter. All this would have been acceptable if when we made the tee times the pro shop made sure we knew they were in winter conditions and exactly what those conditions were. We would rather have played elsewhere as apparently Fresno has quite a few nice courses.
