Rod Man was terrific. He has a great career a head of him. The Ice House is a great place to see celebrities up close and personal.
I love the Ice House. It's the oldest comedy club in the country. There is a bar and restaurant seating, and the show room is just the right size of intimate (not too small). I thought the staff did a good job of keeping the flow of people were organized and the server was fantastic. I got there when the doors open (an hour before the show) and was seated in the front.
We went to Stage two to see a friend in his comedy routine. He was one of many and he did a great job. Some didn't!! It seems that there was not anyone in the audience that wasn't connected to one of the aspiring comics but after 3 very long hours, the manager/producer came on stage to try to impress us................ Believe me after sitting for 3 hours, no one was going to impress us.. especially his very long routine and don't know if he noticed or not but very few even laughed. It is not an inexpensive night!!! Not only a charge to go in, but a 2 drink aluminum and the drinks are expensive. Neither is the food which is appetizers. I was not happy.
Great venue to meet up with friends for dinner or drinks and enjoy a comedy show. Ice House has great comics and intimate setting. There's no other place like it. There is a two drink minimum which is the norm for most places. I highly recommend it.
I visited the Ice House last week with a couple of friends. The house comic was great. He would pick on some of the audience members, all in good fun and all were good sports about it as well, and he would get the whole crowd laughing, including the people he was spotlighting. The show started promptly at 8pm and was great. They had several comedians, each of whom performed about 15 minutes. Keep in mind this is an adult show as there is language that will likely be unfit for younger people. They do serve alcohol, and I believe the age limit is 21, but don't hold me to that. In any case, it's a great evening of entertainment that will keep you laughing the entire two hours. I highly recommend it unless you are very sensitive to foul language.
I was in Pasadena for the day so thought I'd check out the free open mic evening @ 6pm. It was of course hit & miss with the acts. But it was a relaxing 1.5 hours and free evening (minus the drinks of course)Cool venue with multiple rooms (a few indoor rooms & large outdoor)
My husband and I usually go to other comedy clubs for date night however, groupon had a deal for the ice house so we decided to try it out. I called the day of to make a reservation for a Thursday night and the representative was very helpful. We arrived around 7:15pm for the 8pm show. We waited in the bar until they seated us. There weren't that many people so seating was quick and easy. The waiter (Lucas) was very friendly and took our food and drink order. We didn't need to wait that long before the food and our first drink arrived. Halfway through the show our other drink showed up, perfect timing. The show itself was funny, all 7 comedians made me laugh. I was very surprised because most shows are hit and miss. Overall, I really enjoyed date night and will be coming back again. The only con in my opinion is the one bathroom. So ladies if you need to go, get there quickly or you will be waiting in line for a while.
I recently went to the Pasadena Ice House Comedy Club with my wife. This was our third time going to the Ice House. I enjoyed visiting the Ice House until this most recent visit. The Ice House is located on a side street, almost in a back alley, if it's your first time there, you may have a little difficulty locating it. The first time we drove past it twice before we saw it. The shows usually consist of 3 comedians, all of which are pretty funny. There is the typical two drink minimum. Drinks are pretty good, and the average price is $11 per drink. Any drink you buy in the bar waiting for the show to start, does not count toward your two drink show room minimum.During our past visits, we got there a little early to ensure we got a good seat. This last time, we arrived 40 minutes early, and was looking forward to a seat in the front, but they have something new which this didn't have on our past visits. They now have VIP seating. For an additional $7 per seat, you get access to the prime seats. Despite us arriving early and being the first in the show room, we weren't allowed to sit in the better seats.I really do hate when business keep trying to squeeze more money out of the customers. If you go to the Ice House, you are going to pay at least $20 per person for entrance, then another $50 in drinks, plus tips. You are already paying over $100 for some drinks and a couple of hours of laughs. I really don't see the need to for the Ice House to try to squeeze another $15 per couple out of its customers. Just my opinion.Because of the VIP seat charges, I will probably not visit the Ice House anymore, but will instead visit smaller, less expensive comedy clubs.Other than the VIP seating charge, the Ice House is a fun experience.
Ice House Comedy Club is a great place to see comedy. We usually go once or twice a year, most recently in March., The comedy club is small but still draws very good comedians. Appetizers and drinks are good. Nice location in Pasadena to see a show. Well run comedy club.
I have been to the Ice House several times. I believe that it is the only comedy club in Pasadena. The comedians range from some of the more well known to the up-and-comers (some are funnier than others, of course). The cost of admission is minimal and there is a two drink minimum. Food is also available to order. The location of the club stinks, though. You walk through an alley to get to the club. Parking is terrible if you can find anything through that alley and some "strange" pay system to park. The entire space, including the audience space and the stage, is miniscule....location, location, location
Excellent show. Organized process for checking in, waiting, and for entering the show area. Service was polite, efficient, and accurate. Organized seating with leg room and room to walk. Clean front stage, great lighting. Great prices.Website is visually appealing and organized.
Went here with friends recently and I used to come here before I moved from CA. Fun place, Drinks take a while to come because they don't have that many servers.
Many comedy artists started here and still come back to try new stuff. Some very famous people have done many one liners here for practice.
We came here on a Groupon deal. There were 3 comedians performing that evening (I only recall 2 of their names) at the main room. We enjoyed Helen Hong's performance, however Jason Stuart's act wasn't for us. Too much Barbra Streisand references that we did not get...Since we were using a Groupon deal, we got the chicken nacho and the brownie bites. Do not get either. The chicken nacho came out cold and the brownie bites were just average. Parking: $5 parking structure across the street or free street parking in front of the comedy club or Union.Would I come here again? Sure, if I didn't have to pay an entrance fee and there were some other comedians performing.
I went to a early show on a weekday, and I had a great time. LOCATION AND PARKING: This building is easy to find and get to, and there's a $5 lot across the street. I knew that if I had tried harder, I could get street parking on Colorado Blvd, but I was lazy and the lot was convenient and well lit. If you've never been here, the entry is through an alley. DRINKS: Like all comedy clubs, there is a two item minimum, but this is the first time I've had to order both items up front, instead of ordering a drink and ordering the second when I was finished. This ended up working out okay for me, though, because when the show started, I didn't have to re-order; the drink just came out right after I finished my first. On the other hand, this style didn't work for my friends. They hadn't finished their first drink when the second cocktail arrived. The second cocktail just ended up sitting there, accumulating condensation. My friends and I ordered a variety of cocktails, each priced around $10. The presentation of the cocktails was fun-- they were colorful and served in a tall glass--but the taste was average. I finished both my drinks, but my friends only took sips of both drinks and didn't finish. Next time, I'll probably order beer or wine.STAFF: The staff is friendly and efficient. They add to the fun atmosphere.OVERALL: A great venue to see a show, and because of its convenient location in Pasadena, this place is hassle free to attend.
